My goodness bikers are sensitive! I joined a British bike forum, did the welcome thing and some folks replied so there we were chatting, I mentioned I had a rally Mini then posted a link to MA about the build and got my post closed! The Admin PM'ed me to tell me to chat to folks by PM not online! what a crappy forum.

I got spoiled by Nathan having such a fun forum I forgot myself.

Thanks for your concern chaps, mates buddies. I'm going to be super cautious and even when I get more confident, I'll be still riding like a grand dad Haha ,getting knocked off the bike will mean no more rallies so that thought will keep me alert. The main purpose is to do a 20 minute back road commute but saying that even at slow speeds accidents can happen. I went for this bike because 1/ it's British 2/ it's huge! 3/ one owner with just 6700miles

Seeing as I'm off work I decided to fit some leather saddle bags I won off Ebay. At least I'm doing something apart coughing my guts up! I've got my bike test this weekend so I hope my head is less fuzzy.

Spring is here! time to get the bike out. First on the list is a new tyre for the front as the original 2007 tyre has seen better days. I was thinking to sell the bike to fund the Mini build but I came up with a better solution. Move out and lease a cheaper house! LOL The place I'm looking at has one of those big underground parking area's so easy bike parking and big storage uint to store all the Mini parts prior shipping to CR haha

A car I can fix and I'm sure given time a can fix a bike too but for now I'll leave it to the friendly Triumph dealer. They did the sticker and bike check and service. Oil/filter change. what was interesting is the guys there were amazed I burned through a set of front pads in 900 miles. They said how hard to you ride as the pads should last 20,000 miles. I said I late brake and like a rally car a set of pads is cheaper than a gearbox! that didn't seem to be logical to the biker guys. LOL....

For fun I posted another "hello" telling the other folks from the first "hello" that we have to PM each other ....most likely I'll be banned tomorrow. haha

Ah yes the bike is sweet....I just need to learn how to ride it. No "ride it like you stole it" for me. haha

I'm with you there. Cars tend to fall over just a bit less often (particularly when standing still) and when they do there's usually less chance of road rash. I say cruise on the bike and save the rambunctious stuff for the car.

Yea man watch yourself out there! I can tell you every car is trying to kill you. I've had people look straight at me and still pull out. It has been shown that a driver can look at you and not see you even when paying attention. Ride with a buddy if you can, theirs safety in numbers. One last thing, if you can run loud pipes they help.
    Nice Bike have fun.

I ventured to work on the Triumph! My second day on the bike and I’m already found out I’m a magnet for folks in cars/vans on their mobiles wanting to pull out in front of me. Overall I think it will take me a while to become a biker. I sort of compare the bike/car experience to a sailing boat and a speed boat. The sailing boat is fun but requires constant attention whereas the speed boat you can just focus on going fast! Haha

Nice bike. When I was a kid, I always wanted a bike like a Triumph Bonneville or Norton Commando. My eldest brother had a Royal Enfield.
