I have a 2008 Mini Cooper S and the other day a engine light came on my steering wheel tac display. I took it to three places to have the code read and no one is able to read the code (nearest Mini is two states away, and the BMW dealership here in my city won't touch Mini's). I did the in-car scan and it comes up with: Err01 9314h 200048BA7A00 I have tried to cross reference this over the net but with no luck. Any suggestions on where I can go to find an answer? I tried calling Mini in Nashville TN (nearest one to me which is 8 hours away), and they wouldn't cross reference the numbers and said I had to bring it to them for the check (not helpful or doable). I am at a total loss.
Welcome to M/A! I'm a Generation One owner and cannot be of much help, as you have a turbo and mine are supercharged MINIs. However do a search and see if there are any local foreign car repair shops [ones that do MINIs AND Bimmers, etc.]. Or even a local mechanic with a long history of experience might be able to figure out what's going on. I'm POSITIVE someone here other than I can help you, though, as there are a lot of newer generation owners here in M/A who know their way around such issues. Don't fret...help WILL arrive.
No need to go to a dealer, take it to an independent MINI shop. Here is a site that lists Independent MINI shops all over the U.S.. You will find one close to you. https://www.minirepairshops.com/
The ODB readers should at least give you a code that starts with the letter P, even if it doesn’t specifically spell it out. We can look up those codes for you.
Hi, Welcome to MA! Could you tell what symbol it was showing. I will try to find the code in the bentley manual this after noon. Also you can call Detroit Tuned and ask Chad. He even has a way you can give some money is you think his advise is worth it, and it is. I have done this but he will help either way, great guy. https://www.detroittuned.com/phone-tech-support/
Yep. Chad is great and always ready to help. He has helped me several times. I like to think of it as buying him lunch for his troubles. I use to work for a shop that worked on Italian cars, I remember what it was like answering questions over the phone. I am Italian so I don't want to hear any crap about Italian cars..........at least they don't use Lucas!
