I grew up ~20 minutes from there!

Funny you should ask what side of "Big Muddy". First of all, you can probably SEE the Mississippi from where that picture was taken. Just angle the camera up a bit. Second, there is a restaurant right down there called "Big Muddy's", so it's close to that, too! (Not sure if the restaurant still exists)

 

Interesting, I'd like to know more about the restaurant. I get through Burlington once a year. Sounds like a good place to stop.

I was thinking of picking up a calendar or two, but now I really want one for that picture! Good memories! It was always fun to ride (or walk when it's closed to vehicular traffic) down Snake Alley.

BTW, I googled 'Big Muddys Burlington' and it seems to still be there. One interesting fact about the restaurant is that they added a line on the wall all around the restaurant after the flood of '93 to show where the water level got to inside the restaurant.

 

Got my two! One for me and one as a gift for my awesome son- he'll be a Mini owner soon!
