In 2012 we collectively donated $6,291 in cash and 3000 lbs of food to the Graham County Food Bank.

Start saving now cause we are looking to top that in 2013.

So along those lines, $5 from every new and renewing Motoring Alliance Supporting Membership sold between Oct 1, 2012 and April 30, 2012 will go towards making the 2013 donation to the Graham County Food Bank the biggest ever.

Lets show the locals that we don't just come there for fun but do care about the region and want to help.

I'll keep a running total in this thread too.

    Total as of 11/12 - $35

I have an idea, maybe a good one or maybe not....

Here goes. Why not raise the cost of registering for MOTD & take that extra money generated to add to the Graham county food banks coffers?

People donate in various ways, it's probably not a good idea to force donations via added registration fee's.

Heck who'd have a problem adding $10? Well I'll just add my donation while I'm there I guess. Maybe give folks the option to add a donation when they on-line register? Easy peasy lemon squeezey....

It may sound easy to add that as a line item when checking out but there are issues with PayPal and donations. One has to be a 501(c) and PayPal has to have the paperwork if one is one going to accept donations via PayPal otherwise they shut you down. Then there is the cost of accepting donations via PayPal too since they get a piece of the action, that turns into 3% overhead that the Food Bank would not be getting.

Tis no big deal, most people have no idea how fast this stuff can get complicated. But, keep the ideas coming.

If you want to renew early to help add to the kitty that's fine.

Can we bring donuts to donate to the LEO'S?:lol::lol:

In all seriousness everyone one should bring at least one food thing or a $5, $10 or $20 donation.

Charity begins at home and this the USA and we take care of our own.

I prefer to keep the donations on a volunteer basis.
