That looks like there's an air-guiding hood over the proboscis, like a shell over the nose. Except that it's just a reflection that makes it look that way, which is a shame.

I stand corrected.
Thought you had to contain the air on the sides for it to really work like it did back in the day, which the present day rear diffuser has....but see that the height of the car off the ground greatly effects the amount of downforce as it did then...

Really nice analysis on the McLaren suspension.

Bernie probably only sees it as a farce because he's so sweet on Red Bull and Vettel, and so far they've not had a good couple of days.

Interesting write-up about the laps completed at Jerez, with a roll-over chart showing which teams accomplished what.
Interestingly Caterham completed more than three times the laps than Red Bull.
My heart goes out to the Red Bull fans though, it seems they'll know the sorrow that McLaren fans like myself felt last year.
Mercedes' reliability gives it the initiative at Jerez - F1 Fanatic-

But then you guys don't have to suffer Jenson Button 'acting' in a sponsor's financial TV advertisements.-

This is going to be a terrible season for Red Bull if this keeps up...
