Well, how's this for conspiracy theory.....
Nico took the runoff twice, the first time he barely locked up and took it, but lost no time to the cars behind him, the second time, we didn't get to see it, but there was NO lockup, and he lost 6 seconds to Hammy. Hamster went from 2 back to 4 ahead......
So, my theory is that was Nico's punishment, he had to give up the place to Hammy for what happened last race, and they did it that way so that the world didn't hear them tell Nico to let Hammy by......it wouldn't have been necessary if Hammy had gotten a good start, but since he didn't........
The whole thing just looked fake to me.
More and more F1 seems like the WWE of racing (Motto: It's not fake, it's STAGED), and will do anything for the show......-

Don't think Nico locked up twice just to give Lewis the position, but that is when Nico realized that Lewis had indeed the better horse at Monza. Lewis was faster in practice, faster in qualifying, faster during the race and even had a faster pit stop... Nico didn't break under the pressure, he used his brain and raced smart.
Do the math, all Nico really has to do is finish just behind Lewis to win. Lewis on the other hand has to race hard and hope he can draw Nico into making a mistake.
Going to be fun to watch!!-

I thought it was a some what boring race.
Rosberg wasn't driving like himself. Hammy says it's because he can't handle the pressure. But he isn't the one the acts like a child when he doesn't win. I can see the allowed pass and of course Wolff denies it. But the camera showed what he thought.
Hammy is a good driver and I'll give him respect for that. But I don't think he is a good team mate or a good sportsman. But then I thought the same about Senna and people disagree with me.
Vettel didn't make it hard on Ricardo because he knows Ricardo has a chance (small one) at the title.-

Yes Senna was a very hard charger & took no prisoners on the track. He was really something behind the wheel, a supreme driver. In the day he was dislike by many. I was his fan, because of his talent behind the wheel & what he did for his countrymen. I did not like everything he did.
After his death he became Saint Senna & no one remembers how ruthless he could be in a race.
The same could be said about Saint Dale Earnhardt.-

Can't have it both ways, if it was wrong for Rosberg to take out Hammy by clipping his wheel, then it's equally wrong for Earnhardt to put his front fender against someone's quarter panel and spin them out to win also......which he did more than a few times.....

I never said Rosberg did anything wrong on purpose.... One difference in him and Senna is that Senna would never have appeased the powers at be at MB with an insincere apology for racing, even if it might help to move things on and off the subject.. and as for Dale, he would have told Lewis to put his big boy pants on and take to the track... Many a driver has been competitive in formula ford that could not make the several more steps up to F1. As was said earlier her ship has sailed... Unless of course she wants to go back down and prove herself first... Don't dislike Danica, but for whatever reason she has not excelled at the higher levels, wish she had and could.but.....it's been a long long time since she has been racing for the checkers...
The fact is, Haas has an uphill battle already, he needs drivers that know the grade. There are better drivers with more experience in and around F1 available. I want to see an American team succeed in F1.-

I notice in the radio communications they are still going to allow some of it. Only the parts with the yelling back and forth because it's good for the show. You know the calls like "don't talk to me I know what I'm doing" and "he won't let me by" or "he's trying to run me off the road".

Danica will only get the ride because of the publicity it would bring and with it the money to the team. When your car and team are in the media a lot because of the first female driver you can get a lot of advertising $. It doesn't matter what position the car is in.

As for Danica, the point is not where she is now, but where she could have been, had she stuck it out. I agree 100% she is, at present, style over substance and hasn't proven herself at the top levels, and got opportunities that came too soon before they were deserved. It's easy (and reasonable) to bash her now, but like it or not when she ran FF in the UK, and prior to that when she drove stateside, she did show potential. She left too soon so we'll never really know how good she could have been, and now she's facing the fallout from that professionally, although economically she's done fairly well for herself.

F1's image problem has nothing to do with radio communication. It has to do with stifling rules and single team domination. Yes I like when my team wins but all the time can get boring.

Someone needs to remind Wolff, et al, that Bernie was quoted a few years back calling Europe the next third world. Asked why he was dropping traditional venues that always drew big crowds in favor of moving to Asia, etc, he said, essentially, that F1 needed to follow the money. Said if a promoter at traditional venue couldn't afford his prices, there are plenty of others with money, able and ready to take over.
He only wants F1 in places where the locals can afford and are willing to pay the high ticket prices required to support his fees OR the promoters don't care whether they make a profit. The #1 entry on his list of priorities is continuously increasing profits and he's only interested in either status quo or change if it supports item #1. He doesn't care about the traditional fan base unless it has money and is happy to spend it freely. Same goes for traditional venues.
I don't know who actually spoke to Bernie about this but I guarantee if Bernie didn't immediately laugh in his face he laughed later behind his back.-
