Not going to turn this into an F1 + sports cars thread, just a short slo-mo video of those 3 new P1 cars from the test run last week so you can see them from all sorts of angles.

    [ame=http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1kfpfc_they-are-so-beautiful_auto]They are so beautiful... - Vidéo Dailymotion[/ame]

To tell the truth, if one of the sports car series' got the same sort of coverage F1 gets with lots of great camera angles, in-car views and excellent (IMO) commentary, I'd be a HUGE fan.

Kobayashi's Caterham censored in Japanese F1 broadcasts

Caterham F1 car judged too suggestive for television in Japan.

Controversy surrounding this year's revised Formula 1 nosecones is swelling today, as the racing series' Japanese television affiliate has announced it will censor the front end of Kamui Kobayashi's Caterham during broadcasts.

"At this point, we feel that it's simply inappropriate to show his Caterham car on television," a spokesperson explained. "There are children watching. The elderly may be watching. It's a difficult situation."

The protrusion from Caterham's car will be displayed as a pixelated blur beginning at Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix and will continue to be censored until it is revised. Concerns first arose after Kobayashi's collision with Felipe Massa of Williams during the Australian Grand Prix last month, as some felt Caterham's nosecone added an "element of vulgarity" to the wreck.

"Kamui is a fantastic driver, but he's prone to accidents," another spokesperson added. "We just can't risk anything like Melbourne happening again."

Sahara Force India's car was also considered for censorship, but because its aero extremity is disguised by dark livery, was deemed fit for public viewing.

    I was!

I noticed the sounds of the cars bottoming out. The tire chirps and the fact I could understand the drivers.

I, for one, do not miss the high pitched scream.

I have a feeling Nico was given a message not to press to hard there at the end by Mercedes given his remarks during the podium interview.

I have never been a Massa fan but I must say I have changed, looks like

the great old William's team still has some bark left in the fight. And it

doesn't hurt that it is in Martini livery.

I think you're spot on, minimark.

Hammy is his own worst enemy, Rosberg knows it and is using it to full advantage.

British journalists are making noises about a conspiracy against the Hamster based on the pit stops.

German team wanting the German driver to win the championship? *Gasp* say it isn't so....:biggrin5:

Lewis was totally in the right of it. Nico was at his closest, around .7 of a second behind Lewis and couldn't catch him. If Lewis had let him by, he'd have lost at least 2 seconds on Alonso.

    Dumb call Mercedes, dumb call.

And if Lewis had won, it'd have been the biggest march forward in decades. Even so, it was damn impressive.

I do have to wonder what the heck is going on over at McLaren though, staying out on inters when everyone else was on slicks? What radar were they looking at?

Well, spa was a real corker of a race, wasn't it?

And now sparks are flying between the Mercedes team principals, drivers and members - and it's a doosey depending on whom you believe!

Nico publically says it was just one 'o them racin deals.....

Management says apparently the boys did not understand them when they said they could race each other as long as they followed rule #1 - don't take each other out - do not hit each other..... and that now measures will be taken......

Lewis says it's like school all over again, where the teachers say they're going to do something about it but then don't.

Now Lewis is saying that Nico says he hit him on purpose just to make a point, that he (Nico) was still extremely pissed about what happened in Hungary, even tho they'd had a meeting right after the race to clear the air.....and that he (Nico) was angry enough to do something about it.

All of which makes it mathematically possible for Smilin Dan to still be a contender to win the driver's championship! and wouldn't THAT be something?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Whadya think? will the Mercedes boys get taken to the woodshed? will they kiss and make up? Or will the team self destruct in the last 7 races and hand the championship to Danny boy?

Do you think Nico hit Lewis on purpose in retaliation for not following team orders, or did he have a run on Lewis and thought he could take him, then have to tuck back in at the last moment? Would he hit him on purpose knowing that it could damage his car too - which it did?

What are the tires on the Red Bull made of that Alonso could drive into the back of Vettel, bust HIS wing to bits, and Vettel didn't suffer a scratch?

And who will Lewis be driving for next season, with Nico already signed, it doesn't seem likely that he'll be at Mercedes again. Back to McLaren?

    Enquiring minds want to know!

Very entertaining race. I expected the gloves to have come off between the Benz boys, but I figured it would have been towards the end of the race not on lap 2. To my way of seeing things it was Nico pushing on Lewis a bit & Lewis saying heck take this as he carved over in front of Nico. To my eye it was a 50/50 deal & both were a bit stupid. Lewis' stupid cost him more. Not sure what the Benz team can do to put out the fire that is raging in their team. Maybe a group retreat where they all hold hands & sing Kumbaya?

Man I'm digging Daniel winning races, good on him, he's proven he is the real deal.

Loved the close racing at the end in mid pack, great stuff.

What if the FIA specs a safety cell that has to be the same across the board and then let the designers have at it. The designers can do a front module, rear module and side pods.

To be fair, I think "there's never been a shortage of ego in F1" is probably just as accurate. With a few exceptions, of course, but it's almost a necessity, esp. for drivers.
