It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure if the nose is lower than the rear crash structure you're going to plow up the car in front. :frown2:

    New noses for next year.

At least they'll look prettier. Unless someone comes up with an even stranger description.

In the meantime, I really hope no one gets hurt as a result of this.

Anyone have thoughts on what the FIA might do concerning the Russia

It's still some time off, October 12.

I imagine that they're playing a "wait and see" game. It's not like they've never gone to controversial venues before. Besides with Marussia and others being fairly beholden to Russia and Russian companies for funding these days, I think it will go forward.

And you know ol' Bernie's going to be charging forward with all cylinders firing. He only cares about the Rubles.

I'd say Zapski's right, the only way they'd cancel a race is if the venue doesn't pay the king's ransom to Bernie.....

Although they did cancel the Bahrain race once over domestic violence, didn't they? Or was it Abu Dabi?

It was Bahrain. The politics didn't make that decision it was security for the teams.

Right, due to political unrest and associated violence, along with threats to the teams IIRC.....

I'm with Jeff on this one. To me F1 has become a large video game controlled by electronics. We complain about how the new F56 has too much technology built into it....that we like grassroots cars like the R53 was and then we wrap our arms around F1. Give me grassroots racing where sanctioning bodies don't control every piece of the race, politics don't dictate the winner and drivers actually drive. Sorry for the rant.

F1 cars should scream in anger. Not whine and whimper in fear.

Was that an emergency vehicle competition? The safety car got plenty of marks for big use of the kerbs but I'd give the medical car driver 9/10 for just the right amount of power oversteer (while lots of people are watching, hoping to see you overcook it....).

Good luck with that, Red Bull. I quote the regulations:

Unless their sensors at the fuel injectors (which is what they've said they used) are "placed wholly within the fuel tank" it seems to me that they broke the rules. Also the dictionary definition of "Homologated" is "sanction, allow; especially : to approve or confirm officially."

Unless of course they want to argue that the mere presence of the sensor is compliance.

They will argue, & they will lose. The FIA has an iron fist.

If the FIA sensors aren't reliable, which other teams have also said, then they should scrap the rule until they can police it correctly.

All this costs a bunch of money at a time when they FIA says they should spend less.

Here's some insight on why the sensors may not be working as advertised. From Racecar Engineering's free issue. The bold is mine.
