Newey jumps on the "raise the weight limit" bandwagon. Good for him, I say. Newey: weight limit rule must change (racer.com)
Oops, WRONG! Don't know where my brain was when I typed that... Hulkenberg is confirmed as a FORCE INDIA driver again.
Oh, brother, the Austin F1 race is scheduled for the same weekend NASCAR hits the Texas Motor Speedway... Eddie Gossage: “Foolish move†by F1 to go head-to-head with NASCAR at Texas (nbcsports.com) 2014 F1 schedule finalized without New Jersey, Mexico, and Korea (nbcsports.com)
So, New Jersey does not make the final cut again. I remember reading that the race organizers said the money was confirmed and in place. Guess Bernie didn't think so....?
I never thought we would see a race in New Jersey next year. No surprise there. Bernie has his rea$ons I'm $ure.
Yea, ALL my motorsports buds here in Texas are so conflicted about which event to attend. NOT! Check out the TMS attendance figures. Eddie's scared, and talking stupid.
He's been wanting a race in New York for decades. Maybe the better race for the life style New Yorkers would be Formula E.
Me thinks Mario is spot on. From motorsports: Dec.9 (GMM) Fernando Alonso's frustration in 2013 triggered Ferrari's push for Kimi Raikkonen. That is the view of the Italian team's former driver Mario Andretti. "In my opinion, Alonso became frustrated this season, and what he said offended Ferrari," the 1978 world champion told the Spanish sports newspaper Marca. Andretti is referring to the arguably disparaging comments made by the Spanish driver, after which Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo revealed he "tweaked" Alonso's ear. "Otherwise," Andretti added, "they never would have hired someone who could challenge him and even beat him." After four years alongside the often under-performing Felipe Massa, Alonso's new teammate for 2014 is the former team champion Kimi Raikkonen. "You have to know how to behave," Andretti, still referring to Alonso's attitude of 2013, continued. "He always had a proper behaviour, but that 1 per cent ... we saw what was Montezemolo's reaction. "It will be interesting to see what happens next," he added, "because Kimi is not arriving to help; he is going to try to win. "It will be a great battle that will be fun to watch."
Is this silly or is there a better descriptor...or maybe I'm just not seeing the value. Seems to me if someone runs away with the championship, so be it, stop meddling and trying to replace the racing with the show. Maybe add points for pole times and/or fast race laps. Finale to be worth double points from 2014 (GPUpdate.net)
Wealth redistribution... Just like the whole "chase" BS in Sprint cup....adds absolutely nothing to the racing. If you dominate you win early.
Yeah, well, unlike Bernie's usual brainfarts that only see the light of day via media, this gem is already approved and on the books for 2014 and onward.
