Imagine how mercilessly the media are currently hounding Alonso, Raikkonen, etc, with questions about who's going where and when. Horner confirms Vettel en route to Ferrari (GPUpdate.net)
I wish him all the best. Ferrari better get to it & build a competitive car. Not to knock Vettel, but I don't see him being able to do what Alonso has with a gimpy car.
Here's how I see it. Seb has his 4 and the Red Bull thing ain't panning out right now. Fernando texted Seb... Yo, want to win, leaving this horse cart operation behind. Seb about creamed his pepe jeans cause what he really wants is to play with red cars a lot on the private track. One can only drink so much Red Bull, the chance to get his hands on the fun road cars..That doesn't come around too often. Besides, chicks dig Ferrari drivers more than any others...
.....and we wonder how far into season 2015 it will be before Ron Dennis and Alonso rekindle their differences...?
Hobbs said he could not believe Alonso could go back to Big Mac, considering he was the one who blew the whistle on them and cost them $100 mill! Should be interesting, but is there anywhere else he could go? Williams maybe instead of Massa?
As far as Alonso blowing whistles, there's a history of that. Remember how he won in Singapore after his teammate purposely crashed to bring out a safety car? Alonso blew the whistle on his own team, was allowed to keep his win & managed to be found not at fault even though he was a knowing participant. Should have been Nico's first win. Edit & a correction. Having just reread about the events at the 2008 Singapore GP it was Piquet who blew the whistle when he was told by the team he was being dropped. Alonso spilled the beans on condition nothing would happen to him. Class acts for all involved. :incazzato:
Amazingly, Eddie Jordan on BBC said that Ron Dennis might 'step aside' to let McLaren take Alonso. EJ was pretty emphatic that Alonso was joining Honda and so would be in a McLaren by default.
That's pretty drastic and I'd even say out of character for Dennis. I wonder whether EJ knows something or is this just another case of EJ speculating?
I think EJ is pretty well connected in the F1 garage. It is just a rumor, but I think it is more than likely a solid one.

Apparently it's already raining in the Suzuka area. At one time they said they might start the race early so it could finish before the storm gets closer. As far as I can tell, there's been no change to the schedule so far. If I see anything, I'll post it.
I and probably a few others might be pretty upset about a change in the schedule. My DVR is already set. Where I am I need to set the DVR to record two separate programs at the same time. I never know what channel the race will be broadcast on. Last night, qualifying was on a different channel, because the regular one got pre-empted by a football game. :incazzato:
I'm thinking of my DVR as well but I think we're probably safe. A schedule change made this late in the game would be crazy disruptive for everyone involved, esp. those planning to attend the race. My guess is they probably needed to make the call 24 hours in advance. But.....typhoons are unpredictable so I'm not making assumptions.
Let's not forget that Dennis already stepped away once only to come back because Whitmarsh was going nowhere fast. So stepping g away again to get FA back on the team would not necessarily be anything the PR guys would loose much sleep over. A wet Suzuka would be fun to watch. Not red flag wet, but just wet enough.
