Spoiler Alert! Is it really? Did we really not know how this would turn out - at least for the first two or three? One thing I took away from this race - Riccy Riccardo's being 25 sec back at the end of the race means he's only 1/2 sec a lap or so behind the Mercs. If the Renault boys can find some HP over the winter break (and assuming Merc doesn't) He might have a shot at the title next year. Vettel starting from the pit lane and finishing 7th despite complaining that his car was 3-5 sec a lap off the pace shows the potential of the chassis, if it just had some HP. I don't understand why the Williams hasn't been able to win this year, they seem almost as fast as the Benzers, but can't seem to close the deal out.
Biggest surprise of the race..............Nico's admitting he just didn't drive well during the first stint. Nice to see he didn't find blame with something/someone else.
Also saying he couldn't get in the groove during the race???? Quest this is why he's in second in the points.
He's second in the points cause he isn't as good a driver as Hamilton is. If Hamilton hadn't had the bad luck he did early in the season, he would have a much bigger lead.

I had set my DVR to record the race only to find the race on TV was pre-empted by a football game. This has happened 3 times this year. F1 just gets no slack here. Must be the lack of Canadian content. :incazzato:

Soooo... anyone else thinking that this might be the last season of F1 ever? BBC Sport - US Grand Prix: Lotus, Force India and Sauber talked out of boycott
CVC Capital Partners makes enough money to spend a little more to keep the teams. I'm glad they did. If the 3 teams would have boycotted the USGP that would be the end of F1 in the US for a very long time.
Joe Saward takes a crack at breaking down the F1 financial structure. Keep in mind he doesn't have direct access to the real numbers and is making educated (perhaps well informed) guesses. Also, I assume these are 2013 numbers. The F1 financial structure explained (in four sentences) (joesaward.wordpress.com)
Looking at those numbers and taking the minimum amount cost ($129 mil) from last week, only 3 teams (Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes) could afford the minimum on the money from the commercial rites. The rest is all from sponsors. Not a real workable financial formula.
