The tobacco & alcohol ban at this race seems reasonable to me. We (F1) are having a race in their country so observing local customs seems sensible to me. Just my .02....
SPOILER ALERT . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . A major scramble among the top 10 qualifiers. Both Red Bulls have been excluded from the qualifying results due to flexing front wings. They will be allowed to start. Still 2 Mercs on the front row and 2 Williams' on row 2 but the Red Bulls that locked out row 3 move back the row 10 and everyone else moves 1 row forward. Leaves the Williams pair as the most likely potential spoilers.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Been a while since we've seen flexi wings. Wonder why at this stage of the season they'd try to pull this off??
Just ones credibility. That means more to some that others. I know the old adage if you ain't cheatin you ain't trying hard enough. Seems like the penalty for a needed trans or engine change is harsher than for folks who knowingly cheat. ut:
You maybe fast for one lap, but he who gets to the first turn is faster for the whole race. HAMMY for the WIN and CHAMPIONSHIP!
Sad and very anti climatic that ERS woes ended any chance of some sort of shoot out in the last race... With that me thinks Rosberg said it best, Lewis was just a bit better all season and that he needed to find that tiny bit more in his driving during the off season.... Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton for winning the most races and the 2014 Driver's Championship!
Real happy for Sir Frank, his daughter, the drivers and all the mechanics. What a year for them, hope that 2015 is even better.
Interesting Merc was all worried about Hammy's car having an issue and deciding the title. Instead it was Rosberg's.
Didn't matter that Rosberg had a problem. The race for the championship was over after the first turn. :yesnod: I wish the race for the championship could have been a battle to the last turn of the last lap. As it was it was great to see the championship lead go back & forth through the season.
IMHO the greatest silver lining is that the silly double points for Abu Dhabi didn't factor significantly into the Drivers' Championship standings.
I kinda hope this author is wrong about Marchionne's motives. Bet he's right, though, fits Ferrari's MO to want to kiss Bernie's ass and work the system to their advantage. Sounds like Mattiacci did exactly what he needed to do (except suck up to Bernie) and he got screwed over anyway. Politics sucks. Analysis: Why Ferrari dropped Mattiacci (racer.com)
