I too want to give a giant shout out to Helix and to Mikey and the guys Eric had with him at MOTD. My son Blake's R53 developed electrical gremlins the day before leaving for the Dragon. He took it to a shop who diagnosed the problem as a module with moisture in it, presumably the BCM. He drove the car to the Dragon and all indications from conversations there were that it was indeed the BCM...a giant bill to replace. All except Mikey from Helix who thought that it might be the ABS harness rubbing on the firewall and shorting out. When he diagnosed the problem in the Helix tent, sure enough, it was the ABS harness. He repaired the harness, reset the codes and the car has been great since. This could have turned to a $2,500 repair by a dealership or dishonest repair facility. HELIX = HONESTY AND INTEGRITY. Thanks Eric!!!

I hit things at the right time I suppose....arrived Monday about 3:00 and ran the Dragon and RT28 a couple of times with nary a soul but me.
As Mod mentioned, big rains last night, and continued this a.m., but things cleared up nicely after 11:00 or so. Dragon was 90% dry this afternoon, so I ran it again a couple of times.

I must say, my experience with folks on the Dragon is getting better and better. I come upon a bike, and two cars at differing times and in every case, they moved over as soon as it was safe to do so
Every time I come here, I still can't believe how incredible these roads are. Even the road out of Robbinsville to my cabin is a hoot to drive.
'
Also, a plug for Michelin Pilot Super Sports. My first time trying them, and the first real test of them since I had them put on my R56. Wow, do these things grip like there's no tomorrow. I even ran the Dragon this morning when it was wet, and they did a really great job....thanks to everyone who recommended I put these on my R56.
This is also the first real test of my R56 JCW since I got it in February....this car was made for these roads. High HP and top end speed mean nothing around these parts....it's all about the chassis and this car has a nice one. There is really nothing like riding a bike on the Dragon-it's just a whole other experience, but the R56 JCW is a close second..
One bummer note. I came upon a 2003 R53 with its hood up on the Dragon. Beautiful light gray color with some great Dragon insignias on the car. Just went dead on them....they are thinking alternator....before I could tell them I would go for a tow truck, a good Samaritan showed up and the tow truck was not far behind him he said...When I came back through, they were gone. Excellent-Mini owners taking care of each other....I like that....-

It was a great time. I want to give a shout out to the guys at Helix. I was going to buy a part from him but he told me another vender had a better one. I was floored by his honesty. I will remember that when time comes to do more mods to the MINI.
