For a main image for a month the file needs to be rather large, most of the ones selected are in the range of 3500x2000 or so. Smart phone pictures are not dense enough pixel wise to be displayed in print at 8.5x11. However, we do make use of those smaller images to fill and in the collage found in the front of the calender.

I go through all the ones that are of a proper size and select 18-20 that I like. I'll send to then to the person that puts the calender together with notes about any post processing I think they may need. If there is one I want to use for a specific month I'll convey that as well. I then let her select the ones she feels will work best. She also picks all of the smaller images and creates the collage. Her car has been someplace in every calendar. We do a few low resolution mock-ups, comments are added, dates are checked and then we print a proof. That is gone over by both of us and I have a few local people look it over as well. Once set we go to print.

I do try and strike a balance between the different models wen selecting the main images.

 

Second wave of Calenders went out today, If you ordered one between last Tuesday and yesterday, it was in this batch.

Heard from someone in Canada theirs arrived today too.

Waiting to hear from those in Europe, hope they get there real soon.

Golly Gosh Jeepers...I forgot to post the last calender picture on Monday.

 

All Calendars ordered since last ship day of 11/19 have now been packed and and off to the Post Office to send them to you.

You'll note that we are running low, only 16 left as of right now 9:10AM Eastern, 11/29.

 

There are not any Coupes or Roadsters as the main image for a month. Reason being there were not many pictures submitted that were usable of Coupes or Roadsters. There are also no Classics this year for the same reason.

When selecting the images to be used the first thing I do is sort them by size. Below a certain size they are just not feasible to be the main image. This year, I'm sorry to say, the vast majority of the Coupe and Roadster pictures didn't make that cut. While smart phone pictures are used in the smaller image locations, they can't be used for the main image. There is just not enough resolution to blow them up to to an 8x11 size.

Enter some great full sized images of Coupes and Roadsters for the 2015 Calendar. The 2015 Gallery is already in place.

Those that are accepting of the various models MINI offers are being short sighted.
