Yeah, I knew I was mis-reading the lap board, but the rest of it stands.
People always make the same general complaints about F1 every year, same as it ever was.![]()

Multiple reasons to watch next season:
1. Can Nico can drive this well when it counts (not after the championship has already been won)?
2. Will Vettel continue to be funny, likable, and poke fun at both Lewis and Nico or will he slowly turn back into the a$$ he was at Red Bull?
3. US team back in the mix
4. Who will Red Bull blame if things don't get better (I'm assuming that it will still be Renault)?
5. The maturation of Mad Max-

I agree, though, that Korea is probably not going to happen. Either that or Bernie put it on there so he has room to drop another venue without it cutting into his 20-race take. Option C is it's a bargaining chip: The teams complain so he drops a race from the 21-race schedule and gets the 20-race season he wants while appearing to compromise.-

I thought it was ridiculous when I read McLaren's driver decision was going to be made in the board room. Today they met and decided to not decide, yet.
So, further delay means neither of their current drivers can make plans for next season and I'm sure it's getting to be too late for some options. I imagine there are plenty of other issues left hanging as well, not least of which is any prep work by or with Alonso (that is, assuming he's actually joining).
Seems crazy to me.-

It's McLaren's right to do whatever they think will work, however odd it seems. What bothers me is there are two good drivers who already know one of them is going to be replaced and it seems cruel to keep them hanging because of politics and board level infighting.-

There was a suspicious character seen on the CCTV records in previous days. He was wearing a helmet that seemed to change with every shot....

Pay to Play and Pay for Winning. I see no problem since they all make money by the boatloads.
Mercedes can not cry poor for winning $102 million and paying 5 Mil to try an do it again.
Hell that a better return on investment than any stock.-

True, it's a much bigger issue for the teams at the other end of the grid who might win little to nothing one season and still have to pay a $1M fee (I think) just to enter the next.
I think it's interesting, esp. the way they need to pay per point won. I never would have thought of that.-

They're metaphorical tokens, not literal.
It basically means that each part of the engine is worth a different amount to develop. The bigger the change to one element, the less you can do to a different element. You can make a bunch of small changes, or a couple big ones. Some parts are frozen for development, and each year more of the engine becomes frozen until the last year for the engine before we get another rules change.
So the question for the teams is what do you want to work on this year?
The intention is to keep costs down. How else would you regulate engine development?-
