Just read this. He is right on. The whole "green" thing is a joke and it's just making the cost higher.
It's late in the game but F1 needs to make changes for next year in some way or they are going to bleed fan even more. Honda says they are in for a 5 year plan but if they have to wait a year between updates/upgrades I don't see it happening. Will they stick around if they have another season like this year? Think any new engine suppliers want to jump in and spend a fortune and risk press like Honda has?
Merc and Ferrari are only going to give current spec engines to teams that they know can't compete with them. So the future is just 2 teams leading and the real racing in the back.

Yeah, Honda can't get theirs up to speed after two years of development, I don't think they have anything to fear from a Cosworth mashup.
And about the time they get it competitive, Bernie will change the rules.....you know, to keep costs down......:biggrin5:-

Also, I don't know if you guys noticed, but after RoGro's crash, they repaired the barrier with duct tape.

I agree, and this is surely just another Bernie tactic.
On the other hand, that sort of a switch at such a late date would, as they say, throw the cat among the pigeons. It's not going to happen but it's fun to think about the shakeup that would ensue. Plus I wouldn't mind that sort of a change. For me the green power experiment has been interesting and I think the manufacturers might have even learned a few useful things but I think they should just call it an experiment and move on. They want to make things more interesting? Go back to V8s or V10s and allow those who want it to run a KERS. Maybe add a rule that says X amount of electric energy harvested equates to Y reduction in max revs. There would be a mix of approaches and they'd all have to live with their choices.
Sorry, got on another fantasy roll there. Point is, despite Bernie using this as a tactic (I give that a 99.9% probability) I wouldn't mind if it actually happened.-

Not at all, no one expected the Honda motor to be a front runner right out of the box, now here at the end of the season they're already mid field, scoring points and the reliability is improving every race.
Next season I expect them to at least podium.....-
