That was a whole bunch of history. I don't really understand what the point was but whatever. There's an ******* born every minute.

Didn't Horner say that RB was making arrangements to have the destroyed ones replaced?

I thought Williams new nose is worse looking than last years. But it's all down to performance.

Remember when MINI's lawyers forced MCO (MINI Cooper Online) to change its name? Some of you won't have been around this weird little community back then but that's when MCO became NAM.
Seems FOM is on a bit of a legal rampage now in the same spirit. Some websites are being targeted as well as a bunch of social media handles used by motor sports writers, etc. For example, one of my favorite F1 info sources on Twitter, Formula 1 Extra (#F1extra) was forced to change names and is now #MsportXtra. MCO just changed names to NAM, the site and all the members remained. But if you're forced to change something like a Twitter handle the link to all your followers goes away and you have to struggle to get them back.
That's just one example but if what I've read is to be believed, some of your favorite F1 go-to sites may soon be renaming themselves to something more generic and changing URLs. -

This is another Twitter example but still telling.

I think they need a little more carbon fiber.

Nose looks better, still not graceful though. Interesting scoops on the coke bottle, behind the intakes....

With the teams, etc, discussing the possibility of returning to 1000hp levels (not difficult, apparently, with current engines and a change in fuel allowance), here's an article by Nigel Roebuck on the last time F1 had 1000hp on tap.
Don't worry, this one isn't technical, just lots of reminiscing and quotes from those who drove and otherwise handled the cars back then...and their disappointment when that era passed.

I read at the time that someone did dyno the Honda motor. Without the boost limit it would put out 1500 hp. 1500 hp from a 1.5 liter V6 twin turbo! I really miss that era.
But that engine would never last as long as they have to now. -
Sure wouldn't. remember the "Hand-Grenade" engines for qualifying? They had maybe two good laps in them and then they needed to be swapped out. Then a new Race engine was installed.
Still though, fun to watch. Insane to drive. -

Pre-season testing starts at Jerez this weekend. I read today that Force India aren't ready so will skip Jerez. Also read a rumor the Red Bull car failed the mandatory crash test. Given the timing, that has to put their attendance in question as well.
Lotus announced weeks ago they will bring their 2014 car to Jerez. Plus McLaren may end up with significant teething pains with their new Honda power system.
Starting to wonder whether the Jerez test will end with a batch of teams well behind the rest...like last year. -
And the new Merc.

Let me be the first, what are the two black tubes coming out of the nose?

I think they're camera pods, aren't they?

Yup, camera pylons, and they're mandatory.
