No tears from me. Nico had Lewis' measure this weekend. If Nico can screw up quali again this year at Monte we may get to see him on the top step again. It's a long road to the championship & I'm still thinking it will be Lewis. Time will tell & the best man will win.

Remember the Lotus jack man who was hit by Grosjean (I think) and then seen sitting in the garage holding a bag of ice against his crotch? Poor guy suffered further documented embarrassment later...
What a proud way to be "carted" away.

Spot on Minidave. Twas a great and dominant performance by Nico, not one wrong move and drove away from the field like a man possessed... Wonder if Lewis is reconsidering the wisdom in going on a 3 week celebrity party tour about now..lol [emoji41]

So how come his ankle got injured too? -
Doesn't look like he's using the ice on his abdomen

I'd say either the jack hit him pretty hard in the ankle (can't quite tell from the video) or it happened when he landed.

Speaking of Alonso, I read they think his brake problem was caused by a visor tear-off blocking a duct.

I've been wondering for years about where those things end up. Seems they must end up in places where they're not welcome every once in a while but we never hear about it.
Coincidentally, I remember in that same race seeing onboard video of a driver with something flapping on the side of his helmet. When he reached up and pulled it off I decided it was probably a tear-off but there was no way to know whether it was his own, incompletely removed, or from someone else. -

I think that was Kimi with a tear off flapping in the breeze. I remember an Indy car driver who pulled a tear off let it go only to have it end up in his turbo. DNF.....

At the first Singapore f-1 race the Singapore govt. was either going to fine
or put in jail any driver or team mgr. that would have a tear off hit the
pavement. They backed off on that but they are still very ocd on sanitation/
trash. -
Thats Funny.

Monaco seems like the perfect track to break from the trend of getting an early time in and then waiting to the last minute for your best lap in Q3. It would be a bit of a gamble, but could eliminate the risk of a "missed" turn bringing out a yellow on your flyer. -
That would make a great paint job!

Ecclestone: Michelin ideas bad for F1 (racer.com)

I like this idea and don't think it should be any sort of a budgetary issue for Pirelli, despite Hembery's complaints, as long as they make the teams decide what they want for each race a month or so in advance...or however long Pirelli's lead time is. You make an official choice in advance and then you're stuck with your choice. They should also let the teams make their selections in secret so no team can just feed off the strategy of others.

No real news here, but sounds like they're approaching with realism.
