I'd love to see Vettel win out the rest of the races, he still wouldn't win the championship, but it would be fun to see Mercedes twisting in the wind, wondering what happened and how next year is going to go for them. -
Is this COTA trying to beat Silverstone's record for the biggest race-going disaster following rain? In 2012, the British circuit had to tell ticket-holders not to turn up as the car parks were impassible:

Damn. Vettel is taking a new engine and 10-place grid penalty this weekend.
-
With torrential rain in the forecast and a new spec engine, could this be Alonso ' s chance to go top 5?

Michelin was on this track the year before so they knew what it was like. They also said later that they could have had tires there that would have worked by Sunday morning but the teams they supplied said no.
It was just another move in the anti-Ferrari days :frown2: -

I like it! :biggrin5:
Looks like when it's not raining this weekend in Texas, it will be thunderstorming! -
One forecast said there would be spells of only 'heavy' rain in between the 'torrential' rainfall.... Wetter than a duck's fanny, eh?

Wow, just think of how much time and money went into the development of this thing. And, as Steve Matchete often says, if any of those little elements breaks off during the race, will the driver even notice a difference?
McLaren, by the way.

I'm sure there is a difference if a wingy thingy gets knocked off or not. Not sure how many need to be knocked off for a driver to notice a difference. I'm thinking some drivers can add a bit more adrenaline & carry on like nothing has happened. :arf:

I think McLaren has bigger issues than the wing. Right now that's like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

I predict a wet race... -

FP2 delayed and then cancelled. Some predicting qualifying will be moved to Sun morning. I've been reading about a lot of confusion over what would happen if they have to cancel qualifying but still race. Most say there's nothing in the rules about how they determine starting order. I find that hard to believe.

A Manor leading an F1 race then? Yeah, that would be fun! :biggrin5:
Especially if it was Rossi.....
I thought they did start according to points standing....... -
