Expect the McLarens to start moving up the field, now that they've gotten their pre-season testing sorted out.
Nice shirt. When I saw that I thought of a rally driver barking at his co-driver to tell him more & do it faster. Such different disciplines.
Me thinks Nico is whipped. Hamilton was simply brilliant to slow enough to let Seb get close & worry Nico. I do hope for a close hammer & tongs race, that is how F1 should be. Not some damned parade.
I really enjoyed the parts of the race that I saw (kept dozing off because I went to the gym before it started). I wish there were more night races throughout the season. It was great to see Kimi on the podium.
I enjoyed the race. Had there been a lap or two more Kimi would have been on the top step. Nico drove a very good race & was more aggressive than I thought he'd be. To bad he opened the door wide for Kimi.
Better race, would like to see what might have been if Ferrari had pitted Kimi and swapped to the softs just after Lewis passed him.... Nico was impressive early but Lewis was the class of the field again...
Bernie says if Audi joins the F1 ranks he'll leave. Bernie Ecclestone has revealed he is willing to leave Formula One if it encourages Audi to join the grid. Speculation has been rife that Audi is set to buy either Toro Rosso or Red Bull and therefore take a place in the field for the 2016 campaign. However, it is widely reported that Volkswagen Group boss Ferdinand Piech does not like Ecclestone, thus delaying a possible foray into F1. "If that is the case I'll leave," Ecclestone told BBC Sport. "I'd be happy to step down immediately to bring those people in. Absolutely serious." In that same interview with the BBC, Ecclestone suggested that he does not particularly welcome Manor's presence in F1. Manor - formerly the financially stricken Marussia - did not race in the season opener in Australia and have finished no higher than 15th in any of the two subsequent meetings. In reaction to Ecclestone's comments, Manor team boss Graeme Lowdon said: "I think, with the greatest respect, the most important thing is if the fans want us there and the message we get loud and clear is the fans want us there. "Bernie and our team have the same objective, we want to contribute more. When we contribute more Bernie will feel differently. "We're a racing team, it's our job to move forward. We had a very difficult end to last season and a difficult start in terms of preparation. "We're here and we're here to stay."
I have a feeling that when Rosberg started to seem a bit less racy it was because his momentum was broken when his team told him his brakes needed saving. Hamilton may have gone into brake pampering mode around the same time -- I remember seeing his brakes glowing during a stop in the sub-20 lap range -- but any issues with his performance weren't quite so obvious because he spent almost no time at all passing Ferraris. Rosberg lost his brake-by-wire a couple laps from the end and Hamilton lost his on the last lap so there's no doubt Raikkonen only needed another lap...maybe two. Still wondering what happened to Vettel.
I can't figure this out. Did he not see the empty space right in front of him when he parked on the grid? Maldonado Got A Penalty In Bahrain For The Most Hilarious Reason (wtf1.co.uk)
