Verstappen pulled a real Pastor by blocking Pastor at the last possible moment. Pastor did a heck of job to miss the junior GP driver. Yikes!!! Did I compliment Pastor???

That was some save by Maldonado - slo mo says he was 45 degrees out of line at about 180 mph. A prize for the strongest sphincter muscle must be awarded....

I wish that F1 could do something to make the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place racing better. It seems that the person who leads the first lap is greater than 90% likely to win the race with little or no competition from the rest of the field. It's kind of sad when the best racing is for tenth place.

Wow, Alonso's car was much more damaged than I thought. Throw it on the frame straightener...or something.

What maybe a 35 place grid penalty for replacing the whole car?

They need to just allow Renault and Honda 6 weeks of unfettered development. They've done that kind of thing before so it's not impossible, but just to get the competition back it needs to happen.

    /armchair.

Also, I'm pretty sure Alonso is really close to just smacking every person he sees.

The midseason test in Austria started today. Nothing but rain during the early hours but it cleared up and they added a couple hours to the end to make up for time lost. Lots of intensive testing happening.

Check out the strange new winglet being tested by Williams. The tires are also pretty impressive...I guess I haven't really noticed those rain tires until now.

I think that car is going to pull to the right quite badly.

Interesting "nostrils" on the Force India.

I can't imagine the Williams winglets in front of the rear tires are legal, unless they're gathering data for some other reason.

I had a similar thought. Can't imagine they actually want them there, must be trying to figure out what happens if they affect the air, just so, to decide whether to spend time/effort/$$$ working on flow in that area. Someone had a hunch and they're checking it out?

Kick air up over the tire since they create so much turbulence?

    Well, this is fun.....

I thought it was going to be about a bid to be the next F1 team after Haas. Nope.
