Sounds like someone isn't having a good summer break.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-3187384/Jenson-Button-wife-Jessica-gassed-burglars-steal-300k-worth-belongings.html
The Indy race at Mid Ohio had a new idea that would be nice to add to F1 (like the 2 different compound tires) It's a light board up on either side of the "air box". It shows the position of the car, the pit time, and flashes PP when the push-to-pass is activated. Instead of the push-to-pass F1 could have the DRS. On TV we have all that info but at the track is a nice bonus for the fans.
Since we don't have an Indy car thread and why start it now with only 2 more races. I say congrats to Graham Rahal for winning the Mid Ohio race, his home track. He is now only behind Montoya by 9 points for the championship. opcorn:
Graham should send Sage Karam a thank you card. Sage's questionable spin may have been to help Dixon, but it set Graham up for the win. Graham drove a great race & even with 2 restarts at the end managed to head the field. Great win for him & all the local fans. Amazingly Sage Karam got away with it. Indy Car will take no action. :incazzato:

If this isn't a practical first year approach perspective, I don't know what is. Haas (or someone else speaking for the team, not sure which), on their driver search:
Haas team principal Guenther Steiner says the Formula 1 newcomer is in talks with up to 10 drivers over 2016 race seats, with experience crucial for potential employment. Steiner is hoping by the end of September to have announced Haas' line-up, although is waiting for F1's driver market to start moving to offer him an idea as to who will definitely be available. Ferrari reserve Esteban Gutierrez is understood to top the list, alongside Force India's Nico Hulkenberg, although AUTOSPORT understands the Silverstone team is eager to retain the German's services for 2016. Other names in the frame include former Toro Rosso F1 driver Jean-Eric Vergne, currently in Formula E with DS Virgin Racing, as well as Racing Engineering GP2 driver Alexander Rossi. Ferrari has ended the speculation surrounding the future of Kimi Raikkonen by confirming it has retained the Finn's services for the 2016 Formula 1 season. Ferrari re-signs Kimi Raikkonen for 2016 Formula 1 season - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com
I was a little surprised to read that this morning, and now I wonder which Kimi we'll see lined up on the grid the rest of this season and next. The motivated hell bent for leather Kimi of the last couple of races or the normal "I don't give a shite I got paid" Kimi we've seen lately?
I understand Ferrari's desire for stability given all the turmoil of the last few years and I predicted Vettel would be campaigning to keep Kimi anyway, so it's not a huge surprise to me. Bottas just lost a lot of bargaining power with Williams. Other than that, no change just means Haas and others are still waiting. I think this makes two teams that have already confirmed their drivers for next season, can't remember the other just now (maybe Sauber?) but that means four drivers committed so far and four seats reserved. On the other side of that coin I don't know of any drivers who've been told their services are no longer required so no empty seats to fill yet other than the two at Haas.
Mercedes' drivers are both in long term contracts, Sauber is set for 2016, Red Bull is happy with their two, Williams is set, ditto Ferrari....the only possible openings will be at Haas, Force India, MacHonda, Lotus if it's still around and Manor/Marussia......so, the also-rans.
Williams is probably set but it's not a fully done deal. Bottas is in negotiations. Talks between Williams F1 team and Valtteri Bottas "positive" (autosport.com)
