I like this look http://blackflag.jalopnik.com/ferrari-might-go-with-this-super-tasteful-retro-f1-live-1755464650?rev=1453918502677
I always kinda figured the $20 million that Pastor brought to the table just covered the accident damage he caused every time he crashed. :biggrin5:
Hmmm, did the 20 mil vanish due to low oil prices? Now that the Saudi plan to remove Maldonato has come to fruition does this mean oil prices are going to go back up now. Things to ponder on a Friday afternoon.
Looks like it's official, or at least the Maldonado departure part. No official word yet on Magnassen. Part of Crashtor's statement:
You guys ever see the video for what happens in the video game Forza 6 if you replace all the drivers with Maldonado' AI? [ame="http://youtu.be/Ytf6jxZsddc"]Maldonado got his hands on Forza 6's AI... - YouTube[/ame]
With Maldonado gone, I wonder who will take his place...not as a driver, but as the center of ridicule. I'm trying to remember a season when there wasn't a driver being accused of being "too reckless for F1". Granted, Maldonado held the title for longer than anyone else I can remember, but it still seems to me his departure just means someone else will be the new goat.
Yeah, and their name needs to rhyme with a relevant description. I liked 'Hunt the Shunt' best, for the late James Hunt. If we're gonna bad mouth somebody, it needs to be catchy.
Max Verstappen??... he's a lot better driver, but can be really aggressive and reckless at times. Young & Reckless clothing might be a good sponsor for him.
It looks like everyone involved with that team owes money. If the banks push Mallya he could be force to sell also. So who could a buyer be? Maybe if we all chipped in we could buy it. Then we could try and talk MINI into supplying the engine or being a title sponsor. Then we could take turns driving the car, but not in a race because we'd need the super license. Team M/A MINI!
Heck Randy Smalley of RSR couldn't get help from MINI to run his MINI's in the Continental series & has switched to Honda Civic's. Not sure Farce India would want to dump the Benz lump for a Honda one even if there was a bunch of money involved.
The only real takeaway from Renault's press conference is confirmation they signed Magnussen. The car they presented is just a show car rather than their 2016 car and the livery is also going to change. :rolleyes5: Rumor is we can assume the colors are right but there will be more yellow. If so, I kinda like it.
Other than the vertical stripe on the sidepod, you can only see the yellow from certain angles because the rest is on the inside surfaces of the rear wing uprights and the inside surfaces of the front wind end plates. The rest is on the tires and only there because they chose the tire compound that comes with yellow branding. So, here's hoping they bump up the yellow a bit. On the other hand, I do like the matte vs gloss contrast at the rear. That's not going to do be very noticeable when the cars are in motion though.
But would you want to drive a black car in a fire suit in the middle east in the middle of the day? My black car gets hot enough in Ohio.
