    Remember when Ron Dennis said McLaren were stepping away from their long standing engine deal with Merc because they would never win a championship with customer engines?

    Remember when Ron Dennis was so certain Honda's engines would be great and so worried about how strong the competition would be from other teams if they could use the same engines that he clamped down Honda's option to supply anyone but McLaren?

    McLaren sounds out Mercedes about F1 engine supply (motorsport.com)

    That's just for the blow off valve right? The main exhaust is the big round tube as spec'd by the sporting regs....still, I wonder what the heck they form that out of?

    Edit: they can now 3D print in Inconel

    The small pipes are wastegate exits.

    Yep, 3D printing w/ metals was the surprise for me, too.

    I think if you look around you'll see other 3D printed parts in that same pic.
