He'll come back and ask why can't Honda build an engine as reliable as the Indy car version.

I think that's great. Sure hope he gets some good coaching on how to aim an Indy car at the walls going 200 mph.

I would have thought Monaco is the one race of the year that Alonso would be most interested in running. Seems like it would suit the McHonda better than most circuits plus it's arguably the biggest race on the F1 calendar. I don't care whether Alonso aspires to the so-called triple crown, seems like there's something else going on here and it's too disruptive to be just a Zak Brown PR stunt.
That said, I'm very curious to see who will replace Alonso for Monaco. -
The Wash DC region of the SCCA has its own class for Pintos - GTP (Grand Touring Pinto). Not as many around as there was ten years ago but they can
haul the mail, relatively speaking. -

^ believe Bob Lee campaigned one in the Southeast Division in the 80s and 90s.

Funny story, my Pinto racing buddy always referred to his Pinto as the Ford. If I called it a Pinto while he was bench racing he'd give me the stink eye. Racing a Pinto beats the heck out of standing behind the fence watching others race. My race cars were rather pedestrian too, but oh boy what fun. :arf:

It's a racecar. If someone turns up their nose just because it's a Pinto then their opinion isn't worth noting.

I feel sorry for Wilson who gave up his seat for Alonso.

Yeah, I imagine they made some pretty big promises to him.......

Steep learning curve? Yep, but if Kurt Bush can step into one and finish 6th, me thinks Alonso can do very well indeed. Montoya thinks he will do just fine too!
