Stuff happens but one would think a team as big as MB would have something better laying around than a four race old non updated power unit... Lewis would have been livid...

Yep it's a wonderment. I'm wondering if Lewis had the old lump in Russia. Did Bottas have the new one there? He was quite a bit faster.

The reports said that Bottas got a new engine in Spain. It sprang a water leak. Back in went the engine that has been in the car all year for all the races. They say it ran harder than Lewis's in Russia as they dialed him back when it 3rd was the best option.
Hampster was running the same engine he'd run in the all the races this year. He's slated for a new one at Monaco.
F1 on YouTube has lots of babble and talking heads. https://www.youtube.com/user/Formula1/videos
For a really deep YouTube hole to fall into search out Ted's Notebook. After each race, he walks the length of the paddock with a camera in tow and talks about each team and driver in turn. Looks inside garages, bumps into team people all the while the camera guy is trying to snoop into as close as cars and bits sitting around as he can. Runs about 25 min long, is online within an hour or two after each race.

I loved what Kimi and the team did for that little kid that was crying when Kimi's car went out of the race.

That's one in the plus column for the Kimster.

Good on Kimi. Looks like the ice man melted.

I know there is some other shutter bugs on MA. Here is a good article about a guy that uses a camera made in 1913 to shoot F1.

I still like to shoot film in medium format mostly, my wife got me a good DLSR last November. Even if your not into photography go take a look. -

Has he driven in traffic yet? I think that will be a real eye opener for him the first time he heads into a turn flat out behind a bunch of other cars......we'll see.

Deja vu for Alonso, he had to get a last minute engine change before the fast 9 shootout shortly. ..

He's 2 away from his qually run right now.....Honda motor cars have been strong in the leadup to the event, but yesterday Ed Carpenter ran the fastest 4 lap time with a Chevy engined car.....
