Merc say we won't hear anything official from them until next year so remember to consider pretty much everything as speculation for now.
Speaking of speculation, Williams and Massa are supposedly chatting up a storm..... -

Rosberg retirement costs him €50-million (grandprix247.com)

I'm quite sure Nico has enough money for his lifetime & for everyone else in his family. Don't see him coming back as a driver.

He's a racer. Look for him for him in endurance racing (Le Mans) some time in the future.

Probably, yes, though some of his post-retirement comments make it sound like he thinks he'll have some future role in the F1 paddock.

Maybe he and his dad will buy one of the smaller teams.

I think KeKe has stepped way back from racing. It would be quite a surprise to see them buy a team. Even Manor would cost many millions of dollars to buy & run. Maybe we'll see Nico in the DTM when he gets bored counting his money.

The more I read what Hamilton has said in the last week, the more I believe Nico found the idea of another season as his team mate completely unbearable...
Lewis should STFU. -

Lewis STFU that's not who he is. I hope he has a good battle next year with whoever steps forward to challenge him.
I don't pay much if any attention to the off track antics of anyone. That makes me enjoy the racing more, it's not a personality contest for me. It's just good hard racing. :arf: -
Senna would not have said "I'm sorry."

Reality.

In this old farts opinion he who wins the most races should be champion, but it doesn't work that way.

Drivers championships aren't about wins only, they are about consistency AND wins. Under your win championship, Lewis could have crashed out of every other race this past season and won the Championship....hardly a Champion he would have been...

RUMOR
As reported in a German paper known more for headline chasing clickbait that real, factual news...Massa is lured back to Williams with a 6 Million Euro payday allowing Bottas to head to Mercedes. -

If Renault builds a competitive motor this season, I think Verstappen and Ricky Racer both could give the Hamster a tough time this next season, but I've lost hope for the boys in the red jammies.....
and Williams and Force India are just mid pack players, I also don't think there ill be a second coming at Big Mac, especially with Ron Dennis out gardening instead of running the show.
Leaving Renault - could be a dark horse there, especially if their motor is as strong as they claim it will be and they're running a chassis made for it. Their weak link will be their drivers for 2017....even with the Hulk.
IMHO of course. -

Whatever happens I hope for some real competition for the Benz boys. I want close hard racing. That has been missing from F1 for quite a few years. :fingerscrossed: Hey Bernie lets reverse the grid.
