Another sign of just how complex F1 cars are. I'm about to the point of calling them systems rather than cars, like I did with planes when I was involved in development of complex flying things for the AF.
"Hasegawa later said that Honda would likely need to change its procedures to ensure there is no repeat incident." Likely?! Understatement award winner, right there.

I wonder if that could have been the vibration Kimi was complaining about?

Vettel apparently signed up for 3 more years at Ferrari. That's one more seat officially filled for 2018.

Visible about 30 seconds in.

That's some pretty ugly tire behavior. Makes me wonder if we could be seeing tire failures tomorrow. I hope not Spa is a fast track & that could be very bad.

I had an old FIAT that would do that!

That tire issue turned out to be a non-problem in the race.
Checko and Ocon are going to have to have a come to Jesus meeting with the bosses at Force India, they are a solid 4th in the championship and can't afford to keep beating on each other in the race.
With Monza (another track favoring the Mercs) next the driver's championship will come down to nothing again, this one could go right up to the last race. But unless the Ferrari boys can start coming home 1-2 the real championship is already done - victory to Mercedes for strong and consistent finishes by both drivers.
This race looked like it could go the way of most F1 races, leader drives away and everyone else follows but the boys in pink muffed that and brought out the safety car to tighten it up again and Ricky Racer took full advantage at the start and slipped into 3rd - and good for him!
Rumor mill has Alonslo going to Williams to replace Massa - I still think he should go to Renault - they would welcome him with open arms (well Hulk probably wouldn't) and the Renault is getting stronger every race - Hulk finished 6th ahead of Massa and on a high speed track where the Merc engined Williams should have had an advantage.
But what of Bottas? I get the impression that even tho he's done a super job this year, Mercedes does not love him for the future. I would like to see Mad Max teamed with the Hamster if for no other reason than the entertainment value of him and Hammy duking it out but Red Bull says forget it, both drivers are solidly under contract. We'll see, but Red Bull has GOT to start giving him a reliable car - it reminds me of the Weber/Vettel days with Vettel winning and Weber sitting in the pits 5 laps into the race.
Next week - Monza! -

I found it interesting how much more engine power the Mercedes (Hamilton) had over the Ferrari after the Ferrari (Vettel) pulled out of the slip stream of the Mercedes to attempt the pass.
The Ferrari was being towed along to keep up with the Merc. -
