If you go the dealer route, plan for 2 visits. First to let the SA verify the defect, second scheduled visit to apply the sticker. They need to follow MINI protocal.

WTF...the pressures are the same regardless of what size rim you have!
This is stupid and pointless...did the NHTSA just hire a new intern and needed to give him something to keep him busy???

    No....

the tire sticker is a requirement. Mini effed up. They put the wrong one on. They have to fix it.

At least they are willing to send the stickers to the owners. Personally, if it were my car, I'd just wait till the first service and have them deal with it then.

Really, it's not that big a deal. I had two emissions recals for my 02s. Just blew it off till a service, they did it, and then they put a recall compliance sticker on the car....

Yeah, these stickers are serious requirements.

Once I ripped off a mattress tag, you know, the one you're not supposed to rip off (and it wasn't even my fault--I caught it with my toe while I was in the middle of--nevermind) and the FBI was at my door the next day. Still paying lawyers fees for that one....

Whether you like it or not...

cars, like other products, have labelling requirements. Mini didn't comply. The give owners two ways to come into compliance. What's the big deal?

And the label on the matress can be removed after purchase.

Yeah, well that may be, but we we're giving the mattress a "trial run" at the shop BEFORE purchase, ripped the tag with my pinky toe, and now here I sit with a lawsuit from the mattress police I can't pay the lawyer for, a broken toe that I can't pay the orthopedist for, and a newly conceived child I can't pay the doctor for. Plus I now walk with a limp. May not be a big deal to you, but I take this tag business seriously, VERY seriously.....

If you try and donate a mattress to a reputable charitable organization with the tag removed they will not take it.

That is a different matter entirely...

But donated matresses... yuck! But then, I guess a used mattress is better than no mattress! going further off-topic, a lot of charitable organizations won't take used stuffed animals for fear of whatever cooties they contain. Seems you'd have to autoclave a mattress to make sure it's not full of bugs and the like as well. That would be one big effin' autoclave!

Would they take stuffed animals with a mattress tag?

I read the article about building fuselages sections for the 787 but what exactly do they use the autoclave for? Pressurizing? Temperature?

    Thanks,
