Still ugly as it was before very disappointed. Maybe it looks better in person but as of right now its ugly :banghead:
Too much weirdness going on with the front bumper...... I'm thinking someone will come up with vinyl applique to fill in those strange scroll indents around the fog lights.... Might go well with the stick on headlight eyelashes..... Will look kinda like this....
Have to agree about the front. It's the most offensive change. It's almost like there are new crash structure laws that had to be met and this was the result. I love my R56 even more now.
The vast majority of the public will recognize it as a MINI and not even notice that it's a new model.
I wonder if MINI will see a load of orders for R56's now that this ugly thing has been shown to the world. I sure hope it looks better in person.
LOL, you people crack me up. If they had made it almost an exact copy of the R53, you all would still have found something to complain about. It is going to get lonely around here in a few years, but MOTD won't be as crowded. Jim
I think it looks alright. But I could never drive a car with the gas cap on the right side of the car! Yuck!rrr: Dave
I hope this mockup is off. The taillights are way too large, and the front overhang doesn't work. The headlights are a definite improvement, but it looks like they slapped on 2 or more inches to the length of the car between the headlights, giving it a definite snout, making the headlight look like they're halfway between the windshield and front bumper, instead of out on the corners. The good news is the F56 makes the R56 somewhat palatable. Somewhat. The F56 will be "affectionately" known as the "Anteater" variant.
Being an optimist...maybe the large grille and extended nose are designed to fit an enormous intercooler!
