Then it appears the events are mutually exclusive. Guess I'll have to miss the concert as the Mt Evans run is one of the things we really want to do this year. :yesnod:

It's 60 miles according to Google Maps from the center of Denver to the summit of Mt Evans. I'd venture to say that possibly even maybe if you left Denver at 10PM you'd meet up with group to head up the Mtn in time.
But check with people that may really know, not us Google Mappers... -

MITM will be leaving Winter Park at 10:00 PM for Mt. Evans. It is about 1-1/2 hours to the ranger station at the base then another 1/2 hour to the top. If we have more then 50 MINIs heading up we should probably stage at the ranger station and go up in 50 car packs at 20 minute intervals for safety sake as well as the size of the lot on top.
So if the concert in Denver gets over at 10:00 PM the timing would be about right to leave Glendale and head to Mt. Evans. I will include the route in our MITM Owner Manual which should be ready for posting on our website by next Monday.
(BTW, I suggested to MTTS they start the concert at 7:00 PM but 8:00 PM should work)
I also want to say if you are the least bit intoxicated please skip the Mt. Evans run. Everyone going up will need to be 100% in control as there are no guard rails and nothing between you and Denver 9,000' below. Oh and this isn't a race either. Tight, narrow and twisty is fun to test your MINI on but with this road there is a very fine line between hero and zero. -

Daytime is scary, you can see the 10K foot drops and you think about them. At night the headlights just go off into nothingness, you can's see the drop so there is nothing to be scared of. Out of sight, out of mind. -

Sorry about that. -
F.Y.I. Winter Park Resort is also having an event that day its Zoppe' Italain Circus it's an old fashioned circus with a 500 seat tent, should be fun. If you go to winterparkresort@winterparkresort.com you can get all the info. Looking forward to seeing everyone. One more important thing they have started repaving part of Berthoud Pass to smooth out the rough spots, should definatley be done before Mini's arrive but will make for much smoother hairpin turns.

I was going to call CDOT to confirm but their website says it will be done July 30.
Has Winter Park started paving the Vintage lot? -

Chuck, not that I am aware of (lot paving). But I have been told it will be done before your arrival. They will have it done I'm very confidant. As far as CDOT, they'll be done there not paving the entire road just bits and pieces, mostly the curves which really needed it. Jazz festival this weekend if anyone is interested. See ya soon

You're getting terrific participation from the "home" crowd (Colorado owners).......now it's just down to waiting, only a few more weeks and we're out of this humidity and into the cool green mountains! I got the car top carrier mounted, and the car has been serviced with new tires and fresh oil, so that part's ready.......
I just thought of something, maybe I should have listed the Mini-Poopers as passengers!?!?!?
