    Great work as always Dave, but you may want to install the steering wheel before you take it out for a spin.

    Safety first. :D:rolleyes::p

    Nah, a pair of Vice Grips can stand in for a temporary steering wheel easily.

    Wow, really looking like a nice little Mini. Is the engine solid and does not need a rebuild or some hopping up? Great work.

    And another step backwards…..

    Trying to hook up the transmission end of the speedo cable I found I couldn't turn the cable end, so I went back up to the instruments end and took the cable out and inserted a small length of inner speedo cable - the speedo is locked up tight.

    So I have to disassemble the entire dash again to get the speedo out.

    I ordered a new one, till then I'll go ahead with work on the rest of the car.

    Is it cheaper to order a new speedo unit versus sending it to a place like Palo Alto (sp) in California for repair? Or trying to repair yourself, if it is repairable at all.

    Steering wheels are over-rated.

    OK, here we go - just to prove it runs and drives. The noise you hear is not the exhaust, it's the weber carb sitting just behind the speedo! Skip the first 50 seconds or so of the vid, it's just me fiddling with the camera....shifting was pretty awful and I grind going into first at one point, the clutch was seriously out of adjustment and should be much better now.

    Nice, seriously nice! What a great series and the correct way shown how to do it with precision and patience.

    Looking forward to the next big project and the little details on your Innocenti. :)

    Have a great holiday and easy surgery and recovery.
