When my sister and I were about to reach driving age, my mother got the MG factory to make her a special order new car with an (optional extra) reclining seat on the driver's side which she wanted for her back, but with a non-reclining seat on the passenger side, so that my sister and I would not be lead into the path of sin and temptation (not to mention unwanted pregnancies) - which she knew was where two reclining seats would get us....
