You have access to 93 and you're not burning it? I suggest you take the money you are saving on your special mix and put it away for an early walnut blasting!

I paid $33k for my MINI and enjoy it more an any car I've ever owned. Saving a couple of bucks by buying cheap gas for an awesome $30k car is penny wise pound foolish. I would no more buy low octane than I would put retreads on my MINI.
If saving a few bucks is so important you should get a Prius.-

Honestly, when discussing my car I cringe every time someone asks about my gas mileage. Not because its bad but because I don't care. We don't drive an appliance and that's typically why people get a MINI or any other car that's not a Honda or Toyota. You don't buy fun cars and worry about it, it should be a rule.
Hope we aren't scaring this guy off but since the majority of us on here are car guys and ladies the whole "castrati" argument for cleaner more fuel efficient cars doesn't get far.... Because we just don't give a damn. And saving money by diluting your fuel also doesn't sit well with guys that care for their engine.
Here I am sounding like Dave.0 hahaha-

Not worth the hassle to save a bit under $50/yr. I think you would be better off just running a top tier premium fuel.

If you want to save a few bucks use recycled 40 grit toilet paper.
