Retorqued the head again this am and I was surprised how far I took it down, as much as half a turn! I'm still a quart low on oil so I'll head out this am and pick up a couple more so I can send one home with the motor. I re-adjusted the valve clearances and I'll run it once more just to double check the timing and carb settings, then it's time to box it up and send it back to Boston..
He's already let me know that he's got another engine for me to build and he's sending his other car out for a suspension rebuild.

Keep them coming, they are one of the bright points in my Covid-19 doldrums, but I did get out today, I will put that commentary in the correct msg area.
So how far is this one being shipped? Lots of quality going into that box.
Thanks for the entertainment, if I was 15 years younger I would come hang out in your garage and get myself educated.

I would like to use the 1.0 Ecoboost, but the ECU is the issue - it's horribly complicated (so is the one for the R53) I can buy an ECU from Ford for $1500 plus another $500 for the wiring harness.....it only runs the engine, no frills of any kind. However, I really like the lightweight and compact size of the Eco motor, and I hear you can get about 165 hp out of them easily. It's not completely off the table.....

Nice project, did you get the extra room planned out or is it being built as you wait on parts?

the paint for my bike was the same. A Friend now wants me to paint his drag bike candy apple red. The bike has a small front and rear finder. the cover that looks like a gas tank is small too. He paid a little over $200 for the paint. I am not sure I want to the the chance of screwing it up at that price.

Yes, well that's going to be a problem......finding one! Unless I buy an expensive actual respirator.
The paint store said if I was painting outside that I could wear a regular N-95 mask, if indoors I'll need something better.
I have a little time yet, as I still don't have the block and head back yet. -
+1 on having the correct equipment.
If it's still like when catalyzed paints first came out, that stuff actually has cyanides in it that can enter your body through your mucous membranes, eyes, fingernails, and possibly skin. At paint and body school we were told a full suit with a hood, gloves, and full face mask (like a firefighter) attached to a fresh air supply unit outside of the spray booth was required for these paints. They also said the cyanides never leave your body and at a certain point you'll reach a level of toxicity where any more exposure could put you over the edge.-
