I would like to do a supercharged 998, I think it would really be fun. Don't know what he has for a budget for this car yet....

I've seen a couple of Spridget's with a supercharger. I think Moss sells a kit. Are the old Judson superchargers still available?

No, modern kits use the same Eaton 45 that R53 MINIs use, you can get them with an SU, a sidedraft Weber or even fuel injection! Kit's run about $2K, complete.....more with FI.....from England. Moss gets about twice that.

    This place sells them

Did you put rollers on the shipping base? Or did the trucker have a lift dolly I cannot see. Nice work, next?

    Yep, pallet jack......

Next up I need to work on my own damn cars! I need to finish my Innocenti and I may be going to overhaul the engine in my Racing Green 89 - or I might go ahead and start on my rear engined Mini project (Ecoboost) although I have a feeling it won't be an Ecoboost, but either an R53 motor or a Honda.

Why not an ecoboost, would you use a ford 1.5 with turbo if you did? I would think a turbo'd R53 would be nice as rear engine candidate. Whatever you do, post pictures, we are all waiting. :) :)

I would like to use the 1.0 Ecoboost, but the ECU is the issue - it's horribly complicated (so is the one for the R53) I can buy an ECU from Ford for $1500 plus another $500 for the wiring harness.....it only runs the engine, no frills of any kind. However, I really like the lightweight and compact size of the Eco motor, and I hear you can get about 165 hp out of them easily. It's not completely off the table.....

I do, I’m just wondering if that green engine you’ve been rebuilding would fit in the — is at the front, or the rear of the car like the original mini coopers (or am I thinking about some thing else) – well I have a 2004 JCW Coupe, and it’s coming up with all kinds of new Electronica problems — at this point with the SRS driver seat, Lucky me only AFTER I removed it To fix the mechanical hinge contraption that they put in so you can get into the back of this car (Who wants to drive the car from the backseat anyway besides my future ex mother-in-law..... there’s no reason for going in the back seat none!)

The owner has this motor installed in the car now, and should be driving it by next weekend - I'm eager to hear what he thinks of it once he gets it on the road!
