So I think maybe all the parts are on their way. It'll be way to soon to have the car back and forget this image..... Some women just shouldn't drive SUVs.
Could'a been worse I know. (Right Fracky?)

BTW, SRTech, I opted to stay with the same dampers as were on the car and have the insurance take care of it all. Thanks for your help!

Yes they were replaced as a pair, and no she didn't back into me. She ran a stop sign and hit me. Go figure... It just goes to show, the combination of an out-a-town driver, a 4-year old kid and a new puppy (both creating a backseat distraction) makes for trying times for those who shouldn't be given the keys in the first place.
As a side note: A Volvo SUV is Frigg'n HUGE when staring at the grille through the MINI's side window. :yikes: -

Last trip to LA I forgot my iPad so it is still on vacation for another few weeks. That leaves me rather disconnect when I cannot get to my computer. The phone is just too small to do much typing.
Late yesterday, it was Deja Vue of Friday May 13th. I was once again in the back yard when I heard this loud pop come from the Air Conditioner and then it just stopped. I walked into the house and the entire house was without power. Going to the meter box I noted that the master breaker had kicked. Once again it was time to haul all of the food over to Dad's and spend the night until we could get an electrician to come out and check everything. This time it turned out not to be PG&E but rather either a 25+ year old breaker to the air conditioner or a power module in the air conditioner. In either case the power module was trashed, wires burned in the air conditioner and the breaker in the meter box fried. I really don't like electricity.
Susie and Dad came back to the house this morning and worked with the electrician while I stayed at Dad's and cleaned. I wanted no part of the electrical work. Dad's house is now all nice and clear and I was able to work off some stress energy. It appears that this electrical misshap also fried the light in the freezer. I changed the bulb but it still does not work. All power surge protectors are fine. Who knows if the last PG&E related mishap in May weakened the power module in the air conditioner. One will never know.
Here is hoping that you get your wheels back really soon. Oh, as a result of being at Dad's, he has no working TV in the livingroom, or kitchen; he does however have a DVD player hooked up to the two TVs. I watched the new Italian Job movie twice today while I cleaned. I just turned on TV here at home and guess what is on...... The Italian Job. Oh well, I will watch it again. Never can get enough of those MINIs. -

Sushi is great over here, local place has raw horse on the menu :deadhorse: now I know what happens to the one that they keep kicking... Some people think we're weird for eating rotten milk so who is to judge. Getting an MRI on my knee today as they think I have a torn meniscus more to follow with surgery soon to fix over here.

Sorry to hear about your electrical tribulations. At least you found it quickly and can hope it'll be ok now. Speaking of the Italian Job. We ought'a have a MCM Club meeting one night in the early fall where everyone can eat, drink and watch the whole lot of em (old and new). That'll take alot'a beer, wine and snacks.

Speaking of electrical; I am beginning to think that I may be the cause of all electrical interference. Last night while driving home from work, the gas gauge on MINImowse suddenly dropped to zero and the red light came on indicating that I was out of fuel. This I knew was not possible as I filled up last Wednesday night and only drove MINI 12 or so miles on Thursday and about the same yesterday. Upon arriving home, I shut her down and then then fired her up again. Gas gauge worked just fine.
It could be several things I suppose; I radiate an electrical magnetic field that interferes with all things electrical and I need to be discharged (thus the electrical events at my house); it was a freak anomaly, or the sending unit in my gas tank is dying. In any case all will need to be closely monitored. :biggrin5:
So the next time you see me, if I glow in the dark, or you shake my hand and receive a shock, you will know careful monitoring has revealed. :aureola: -

Bitzie on the other hand thinks that MINI's problem is that she was left home alone in the dark garage with no electricity Saturday night and she had to make it perfectly clear to me that she was not amused. Coopster was at The Dad's so MINI did not even have a buddy to share the experience with. (Normally I leave a night light on in the garage for "The Kids"; they sleep better you know).
Regardless, MINI is still under warranty if the gauge/guages die. Heck, HerrB never had a gas guage and my legs were too short to kick on the reserve tank lever. I always had to track my mileage so as to remember to fill up or coast over to the curb so that I could reach down and flip the lever. Ah yes, the olden days, for you youngsters out there. -
