Sorry Jim by the time my response like all of them here was posted it was to late to call you! Next time lets use the a better way to communicate.
Suzie was doing well until PAIN hit her like a ton of bricks. The hospital I had assumed would bring the meds on a schedule they have her on a as needed and want her to call for them at which time they will work on getting them down to her. Assumption on both sides maybe but none the less frustrating.
I stopped by the shop on Saturday and was so out of it I would not have even have thought about touching my car let alone someone else's. Steve did seem to keep me away from the tools and the cars forming a shield between me and them with someone or something. It was great to feel the friendship and warmth that MidCal members bring and for that I extend a sincere thanks from all of us. Suzie got her parole today and with here 29 staples in her back on the top level of 4 layers of stitches made it home with follow ups during the next two weeks to get those 29 staples removed. With my mother-in-law flying in tomorrow after Suzie asked her as a retired nurse to assist with Samantha in School and myself back at work for an inspection it looks like things are tracking along. We plan on being at the MidCal meeting and will see everyone there. For those that took the time out of their day to stop by or to check up on us thanks for being there we needed you more then you will realize.
They say there are two types of drives when it comes to Mini's. Those that drive for the gas milage and never get into the driving experience. And those that really get into the driving and the car. These are easily found by the love for the car and for other drivers, they wave and form groups when they see another Mini in a parking lot. They are window lookers who always look at other cars to see what they have done. I think I was part of the first group when I got first used Mini, however thanks to being exposed to MidCal and the outstanding members we feel like our family has grown. I know that this thread is watched by other members of MA and for them I would hope that they would seek out that Mini owner that is not a member of the local club and bring them into the family.
Fizgigg my normal SOP is to drop tools and Jiminni some people like my Mom are unwilling to get onto a computer. Sometimes it just takes a face to face comment or a phone conversation as long as it's not annimated.
And if ya have all'a the above, ya can't leave home without this! Being light weight C/F it ought'a make your Quasi-Android/iPhone work faster...
This is a copy of a message that was sent to me from Dwight looking for information. I am going to tell him to watch this forum for a response and knowing some of the great trips out that way I never seem to be here for felt this was better for a punt to the group. "I was wondering if you and your buddies at MidCal MINI's might be familiar with the roads between Cayucos and Paso Robles. I know there's some dandies there, but it's been 30yrs since I drove them. Reason why is that my club, West Coast MINI, is planing our annual 3 day Great Pacific Coast Run (GPCR) right now and we may be using Cayucos as a base this year with about 20 MINIs. We have one full day (Sat.) for doing the twisties around there. Would really appreciate any wisdom you might want to part with. Thanks! <crickets chirping> so what's going on in the world of MidCal? Mad-modders, auto-x'ers, MINIfanatics?
Well Joe, much like you I haven't been driving the MINI. It's parked in the garage and I've been driving my truck, cheaper on gas. Not much else, just busy at work, lot's of new construction and happenings around here. Neil
