Steve, some guy PM'd me about me enquiring about the Thumper head/cam. What do you know about ENDYN and their products? Well, quality of work and price wise? I see that Nick went with the Endyn head and NS1 cam. Is that the way to go?

There are different stages of mods for both the Thumper and Endyn heads. The Endyn head was a big valve head and the Thumper stage 1 is a standard valve size head with porting. It's how much do you want to spend and what your goal is. I haven't installed a big valve head on a Cooper so I don't know if there is an improvement or not. You might search for info on that subject.

We're going to make Cubby's Cooper faster than your S, too. And if that fails, he'll just pull you over and write you a dozen fix it tickets.

Well Keith from WerkinMini e-mailed me with a lot of good info. He broke down the head and explained the process to me. He suggested I go to a mid vlave size instead of oversized valves. He also suggested the Schrick cam. But, I did see that Nick had the Endyn head with a NS1 cam. The NS1 is a lot less than the Schrick brand. Steve, what cam do you think I should install?

If you like to run high revs I would suggest the Schrick or the NS2. If you don't spend a lot of time above 3k RPM, I would use the NS1. I think it's a matter of driving style. You'll get more out of your Cooper at high RPMs, but you'll have to drive it that way; that's why I like the Schrick in my MINI. I consider anything below 3k as lugging.;)

Somehow, I don't think that's going to get Neil his mods. I think Katie said something about an active aircraft carrier. It does make me want to break out my dive gear, though. Diving off the CA coast is murky at best. Catalina is nice, but Hawaii and the Caribbean will destroy your will to dive in the cold, murky waters of CA.:eek6:

I heard the active part and looking at the video it is very active, just not in the war fighting duty mode. It was cool to see what has happened in a very short time span and how much the sea is reclaiming the ship.

Huh, what, did I hear my name? At work and can't see the pictures/videos so it'll have to wait until I get home.

    Steve,
I've talked with Mike, from Thumper Heads, and he suggested the NS1 cam. He said with the R50 not being boosted, it'll take the high RPMs to get the most out of the Schrick 260 cam.:frown5:

Yep, it's a great all around cam that you don't have to run at high rpms to enjoy. Plus, it's a lot less money than the Schrick.
