Back in town from Jeep trip Well, we are back in town after last weekend's epic Jeep trip on the Rubicon Trail. Definitely the hardest off-roading I have done, and it looks like the only things I have to fix are replacing one valve stem, the muffler and tailpipe, and the rear license plate mount (the license plate is holding the mount together, and the tape and twine are holding the whole thing to the Jeep). Bumpers, skid plates, rock rails and frame rails are scratched and scraped and dented, but they did their job in protecting the Jeep - not one scratch in the paint! Of course, this did give me more ideas on what would be needed to take a MINI on the Rubicon. I think a Countryman with a straight axle swap and 32" tires would be ok! :cornut: ut: I'll post a link to my Flickr account once I put some trip pictures up, for anyone who is interested. But, here is one to give a flavor of the trip.
Very cool Having just rented 4 door Jeeps the last two weeks in Hawaii, was quite impressed with them, even did a little off roading myself :cornut: Went out on the beach too
Are you Sure? Not canine crickets are they??? Oops, sorry, wrong country. I guess it doesn't matter if ya wash it all down with copious amounts'a :beer:beer:beer:beer:beer:beer:beer a guy can eat anything!
Steve hopefully the weather is good and you were able to do something that you enjoy doing on your birthday!! Have a great one.
Sounds like a lot of fun. Been over that trail more tha a dozen times myself. If you want to try a run that is even more challenging and closer to home, check out the Duzy train up near Shaver and Huntington lake. Takes about 3-4 days to cross and most of it is over 10000ft. it ends on the road to Edison and Florence lakes. Just dont try it solo.
Working as usual, but I'm going to Casa tonight so anyone may join me if they wish. I don't expect that you'll make it since it's a long flight. But if you can hitch a right on one of your supersonic flights, do come by!
Happy Birthday Dr.Steve!! I didn't know you were a Leo too. :cornut: What do you think about this gauge pod from Duell? http://flic.kr/p/8y2gVu
Six hours later and I would have been a Virgo. Those pods are nice but I don't see the mounting system. Also, it looks like you need the Defi gauges for the smooth transition. Steve
With a new boss it has been interesting over here seems like they don't bother to explain to the new guy why we do things the way we do them and everyone is insistent on changing what works. Lots of hours spent explaining that we have publications and how they guide what we can do on a daily basis. Is it June yet?
Publications? Does that mean you actually have to read? Good luck! Don't worry, the regular business world is very similar so you won't feel much different. Steve
Just rat pack his a** and lock him in a tiny cold room with a single 25 watt light bulb and those publications he's apparently never read. Ya won't have ta wait'll June.
Chief, looking forward to having you back in the valley! Dr.Steve, it was great talking to you today. I'll keep you posted on 'Project Top Secret'.
Sushi this weekend followed by surgery on Monday to repair years of injury and abuse to the right knee if all goes well..
One day I hope you'll make us a collage of these over-the-top MINIs you've collected. It'd make a great garage poster.
