MidCal truly ROCKS! Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to drive down to Lemoore to be in my retirement from the US Navy. Arriving on the flight line sde of the hangar during a day when aircraft are flying with a great bunch of friends in our awesome cars truelly is a memorable event. I look forward to many more fun days with all of you now that I have separated. Thank you for the great card you got me on this one and I can only say THANK YOU!
Dude...THANK YOU!, and your family, for the dedication of serving for 30 years! I think if you ask everyone that was there, it was OUR honor to be there yesterday! "The Watch" I have to admit, made me tear-up :blush2: Just wish more of our kids could see the dedication that was shown yesterday The Watch For thirty years This sailor has stood the watch While some of us were in our bunks at night This sailor stood the watch While some of us were in school learning our trade This shipmate stood the watch Yes.. even before some of us were born into this world This shipmate stood the watch In those years when the storm clouds of war were seen brewing on the horizon of history This shipmate stood the watch Many times he would cast an eye ashore and see his family standing there Needing his guidance and help Needing that hand to hold during those hard times But he still stood the watch He stood the watch for thirty years He stood the watch so that we, our families and Our fellow countrymen could sleep soundly in safety, Each and every night Knowing that a sailor stood the watch Today we are here to say 'Shipmate... the watch stands relieved Relieved by those You have trained ,Guided, and Lead Shipmate you stand relieved.. we have the watch..." "Boatswain..Standby to pipe the side...Shipmate's going Ashore.."
That was moving. I'm sure your head was high John, but you were reluctant to give up the watch you stood for so long. Hand salute my friend. Jim
That's awesome! Thank You for your service to our country. Now enjoy the rest of you life just like you I joyed the Navy. Again, Thank You
Got to drive a Cadillac CTSV coupe yesterday! :drool :eek6:  Anyone have $70k they want to give me? :biggrin5:
Extreme MINI Parking: Professional Driver. Closed Circuit. Do Not Attempt. - YouTube "When asked what he did for a living, Mr. Han Yue replied, I valet park cars at Union Square, San Francisco." Just kidding, but this is why I never let anyone valet park my car! :eek6:
So after Cars and Coffee in Irvine Saturday, we went down the street to the Mini dealer to check out some Roadsters. Well they are still scarce, the "S" anyway, and after looking at the prices of Justa's, $31-33k, don't think it will be in our long term plans. But as the BMW dealer is right there and looking at some used, 09 and newer Z4's, they will be on our long term plan
Wowsers. It's been deader than dead in here. Almost 1 month with no posts? Where's the peeps at? Have you guys checked out the new MINI video: Awesomeness.

Something about working 6 days a week 11+ hours a day does not leave a lot of time for much else. I have noticed that bugs are attracted to a clean car especially at night when running down back roads with high beams and driving lights on..
Jim I retired from the Navy on June 1st starting 87 days of terminal leave and started working at Del Monte on June 4th as a Maintenance Supervisor. With tomato season now in full swing we are running 24 hour operations 7 days a week. Half as long as a deployment and after my day at work I get to come home. :beer
Thanks Fracky it has kept me busy and joining them right before the season has made it extremely interesting.
