Being one of the most active forums on the site, I just want to say hello to all you folk who yak here. Mark
Hows it going in the Great White North? Funny thing, while I'm reading this, I'm watching Strange Brew!
I've been watching and reading this thread and I have to tell you all that you really get on. I love it . Belated Happy B-day Tina . If there is ever any questions I can help with please ask, here or PM me. Mark, when did you move ? Mark
We moved out of the thread of the same name on NAM, which has over 16,000 posts and over 230,000 views, to here. We have a long way to go to match those numbers, but we'll do our best. Steve
Hi i'm glad we have some outside visitors to our site. It makes the conversation more interesting when this occurs:aureola: We could enlist more members even if they aren't from the local area:beeropcorn:
Ok people, I don't want this to be a post whoring thread. If you have something useful to say, say it. But one word responses that add nothing to the conversation are just junk that makes finding info harder. Thanks. Steve
Better then one letter responses like "K" :incazzato: Looks like one of the two owner families decided to bring out both Mini's on Saturday. I talked with the Public Affairs Officer and things are good to go. Large stand is at the photo site and now its just a question of which back ground will be available what with lots of my toys leaving for the weekend due to tasking.
I saw that the SCCA San Francisco Region-Fresno Chapter is hosting an event on November 13th and 14th at the Fresno fair grounds. Is this something worth entering? Also, I just visited Fresno PD's new EVOC and driving course, at their new training facility, and it's pretty sweet. I talked to the Sergeant that was in charge of the site's construction, and he mentioned the SCCA contacted them inquiring about utilizing their facility for track events. Sad to say, FPD turned them down. I guess it's a liability issue.
I always wondered how much fun one could have at a EVOC training event using a Mini as the suspect car
Its so nice.... I want to say the north 40-60 acres are all designated for the course. They have the skid pan, and have a high bank turn to simulate on ramps. There's also parts of the track that are designed to simulate city streets. Also, there's probably five acres of flat asphalt. They use this area for cone work (cars/motorcycles). All I'm saying is that you could design or cone off some sweet tracks out there.:ihih:
MetroplexMINI has visited the East Texas Police Academy for the Practical Driver Improvement classes they offer at their driving training facility. I've not attended as each time I could go there was also a track day...priorities...but then again once could call a DE a Driver Improvement Class too.
