So, long story short, the coilovers in my GP are shot after 17k, and while they're getting replaced under warranty (this time), I've been searching around for some future options for the next time they inevitably fail again. One of the members on here, Whales (Bill), has a set of Greene Performance coilovers installed on his R53, and as luck would have it, he happened to be coming up to Helix this week to have some corrective surgery done. His A/C compressor had officially given up the ghost on the way down to the Dragon, thus, it was in need of replacement. The initial plan was to hang around in the morning and go for a quick ride once the work on Bill's car was wrapped up. Well... I had no idea that my visit would essentially turn into a mini MOTD reunion of sorts, and span the entire day. Enjoy the photos. The view from the front door. An early R56S on the dyno. While I was there... Mendra showed up with some new R56 rear calipers for his R53. Checking clearances... We found that the stock R53 rear arms won't allow R56 calipers to fit without some... ahem, alteration. So, we waited for the master of destruction. Another familiar MINI showed up looking for some A/C help, as well. Out came the power tools. One bolted up and ready to bleed. And of course, what's a photo dump without some shots of the GP? Catch all the photos, HERE.
So you got to experience the "Helix time continuum" with a bunch of the misfits. No better way for that to happen.
Looks like you will be banned from Helix soon for taking pictures of Eric working on a car. Great photos man.
Eric needs to open Helix West in Columbus. Jealous we don't have a place to call home for our addiction. We don't have cheese steaks but we've got Nathan! Great pics!!
Thanks for posting the pictures. I didn't know Eric had a doppelganger. That cannot Eric with the grinder. Must be his body double.
Yeah, the only good shop here that I would let touch my car, changed owners and the new owners won't let me or anyone on the floor. That's the end of getting my business, except for alignments and tires. Though I'll still refer other people to them.
