Genetics and Cancer. Just some more Cheery news for y'all consider concerning yourselves and your families.

Margi is 1 of 5 siblings. 2 have died of cancer and Margi now has it.

All of Margi's Paternal Aunts and Uncles died of cancer.

None of the siblings/aunts/uncles had the same kind of cancer.

Want to know what you're likely to die from medically speaking, look to your ancestors.

Think that: no heart attack because I watch my weight, cholesterol, and aerobically exercise? WRONG! Think that: no lung cancer as I don't smoke?
WRONG! Think that: no colon cancer as I eat vegies and bran. WRONG! Look to your family history.

    A Prayer For Margi

    :( UPDATE!!!!!

Margi's cancer is inoperable and radiation is not usually used in pancreatic cancer due to the closeness of vital structures so, it's chemo and the Lord God only.

    A Prayer For Margi

    UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was almost a killing of an un named doctor at an un named Dallas hospital today. Margi had her EGD US with Bx scoping and the nurse called me in to talk to the doctor post scoping. He said," Well I poked 6 times with the biopsy needle and hopefully we got some of the lesion but if not we'll just bring her back down and do it again:yikes::mad5:." Just like that(cost $5k per scoping). Yup, it was all that I could do to keep from choking the living scheisse out of him. We're home now safe and sound. More 'hurry up and wait' until the Bx are back next week and then hopefully start chemo.

:sad: UPDATE!!!!!! Margi saw the Doctor yesterday because of worsening abdominal ascites(fluid which collects in and causes distension of the abdomen. Very similar to what happens to alcoholics and hepatitis B + C people who have chirrosis). The follow up CAT scan with contrast won't be done until next week but this complication in and of itself points to a rapidly deteriorating Portalhepatocirculation(blood circulation between the intestines, portal vein, and liver is being blocked by the tumor at one or all of these organs). This situation is DIRE and ( the Doctor said) irreversible. He told Margi that the CAT scan next week will tell us more but even without it he told her that she might see Christmas but probably not Valentine's Day. Please keep the prayers, positive thoughts, and good vibes coming.:sad:

:crazy: Well with the recent 'hacker' troubles here on MA, I some how missed Nathan's message to us all about the problem. As I couldn't get access to MA(stupidly, I hadn't written down my site issued pass word) I sent him an email that went who knows where but which obviously he didn't get. So I sent a 2nd one that was showing my mistaken belief that I was being kept from using the MA site. Nathan, always the nice guy, explained things to me and gave me a pass word that I can easily remember. I have apologized to Nathan but I feel that I should apologize to all of the MINIacs here on MA. Nathan, definitely one of the 'good guys'.
Now on to Lady Margi. Home Hospice(remember this generic name in case you have friends who are terminal and want to die at home) came by today and enrolled Margi. Their scope of care is very broad and they help in ways that most of us haven't even thought of. They take call 24hrs a day and are truly 'angels of mercy'. Margi's care is now palliative as nothing else can be done other than keeping her as comfortable as possible. She's a very brave Lady and is handling this well. Her 'Ladies Night Out' group came by today and they were laughing, joking, and reminiscing about old times. They've all been friends and run around together since grade school. Their visit was so kind and good for Margi. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

    For Now, Life Goes On,

    Jason

 Lady Margi's condition worsens day by day. We are watching her die millimeters at a time each day. Fortunately her friends, family and the Home Hospice Nurses are close by and just a phone call away. It is very hard for all of us to watch but be unable to help with other than palliative measures. Only our faith and yawl's prayers and good vibes sustain us.

    Bless You All,
    Jason
