My mom died of lung cancer - never smoked a day in her life...... They gave her two years and she made it thru three, but in the end lung cancer is not survivable. Pancreatic cancer is what took Paul Newman too... Of course, life itself is not survivable. Jason, hope for the best but plan for the worst, and live every moment with her as if it is the last......that's all you can do. When it's your time, it's your time. Good luck to both of you and you will be in our thoughts. (My wife is a 10 year stage 4 breast cancer survivor, so it can happen)
Jason, you know my story, with regard to the problems my wife has had to endure. She has been cancer free for 3 years now. She has had great doctors, but what has pulled her through this is her faith in God and the prayers of many, MANY friends and family. Our prayers go out to you and to Margi.
Just a hello Jason... Hope all is as well as can be during these times! You're both in our daily thoughts. JB.
Jason, you and Margi have both been added to my daily intercessions. May God protect you both, giving you both strength and courage in the months ahead. To His glory, may Margi be healed of this cancer, trusting in God's wisdom. May her healing be a beacon to others to put their trust in God. May the medical professionals use all the skills that their Creator (acknowledged or not) has imbued them with to aid Margi's recovery, to ease her pain, and to bring her comfort. May God's healing spirit go beyond human capability, and may you share in that healing. Our times are short, Lord. We know by faith that You will heal us completely, either now or when we at last come to see You. We welcome, wait for, and anticipate that complete restoration in and to You. In your son Jesus' name, who died that we might live, I pray.
Hey Jason, don't worry, we'll keep sending our prayers and pray the chemo does the trick. I know we all will enjoy adding Margi's name to the cancer survivors list soon! In the meantime, make every damn moment count and enjoy each others company!
A Prayer For Margi UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was almost a killing of an un named doctor at an un named Dallas hospital today. Margi had her EGD US with Bx scoping and the nurse called me in to talk to the doctor post scoping. He said," Well I poked 6 times with the biopsy needle and hopefully we got some of the lesion but if not we'll just bring her back down and do it again:yikes::mad5:." Just like that(cost $5k per scoping). Yup, it was all that I could do to keep from choking the living scheisse out of him. We're home now safe and sound. More 'hurry up and wait' until the Bx are back next week and then hopefully start chemo. Jason
Wow..... Sometimes you have good doctors, and sometimes you have those that say "if not we'll bring her back and do it again". Hopefully this is not the case Jason.
well hopefully they can get it taken care of Jason. Prayers still being sent. Don't go using those Green Beret skills on the doc!!!!!!
I sincerely hope your insurance is paying for all this. My god, $5k a pop! Let's hope Margi holds up well with the constant probing, prodding, and poking involved in treatment. Good luck, buddy, and both of you hang tough! Prayers offered up as always. Dave
:cornut: UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chemo starts day after tomorrow(Wed 26 Sep 13). The Oncologist is a very nice and experienced Doctor who is well known, well liked, and has a very good reputation in the community. Margi and I are well pleased with him. The pancreatic chemo is known for its low side effects which pleased Margi. The Doctor told us how it was and did not offer false hope which is how Margi wanted to hear it. Expect the worst but hope for the best(a Miracle, they some times happen). Thank you all for the Prayers, Good Vibes, and Positive Thoughts. Jason
keeping your lady and you in prayers. Good to hear that you like this doctor. I must agree with your wife, just tell me how it is, no sugar coating. May the Lord lift y'all up in his glory and heal Lady Margi. Prayers sent. God Speed!!
