I want to create a sticker, make it and print it myself. Its gonna be exactly like the one that the S56 GP has on its hood. Can i find the original file of that sticker so i can have the same dimensions in order to duplicate and recreate it in a design application (eg. Illustrator) and then go and print it so some printing shop?
If your car is not a GP, putting GP graphics on it might be considered to be in questionable taste, in a Jeff Foxworthy joke kind of way. CD
You are absolutely right about that, but dont you worry. It will not look exactly like the GP, but i cant say what im gonna be doing.
There is a member of our local MINI club who has a Clubman JCW that is painted to look like a GP, complete with GP graphics and GP wheels. It has a roof graphic that says, "GPC 001". (Clubman). Another club member who has an actual GP got his shorts all in a twist over it. I think it's pretty funny!
If you need an accurate template for the red outline just buy the factory MINI decal. It's only $38 USD.
My favorite is when I see a Mercedes E350 with an AMG badge on the trunk. The BMW roundel on a MINI, if done in a tongue-and-cheek manner, doesn't bother me. I have a friend/customer that runs one of the top restoration shops in the country. He's about 6'4", easily 250-plus pounds, and his daily driver is a SMART car. He rebadged it with Mercedes emblems and nomenclature, just for fun. He likes the confusion it creates for people who don't know much about cars. My name begins with a "Z." I used Adobe Illustrator to modify the Miata logo and create new graphics for my Miatas with "Ziata." I also put "ZeaDoo" graphics on my Seadoos. Most people noticed the Ziata mod, but very few noticed the ZeaDoo mod -- it looks too much like the factory graphic. Come to think of it, I posted this once before with a picture. Here it is again. If I were to put GP graphics on my MINI, I'd probably do "ZP" instead of GP, just to make MINI owners wonder, "WTF is a ZP?" CD
Another important thing... is the bonnet scoop used by the GP the same as dimensions as the R56S's? Cause thats where ill want to be placing the GP scoop decal!
Re-badging was a big thing with the FR-S crowd. Many were upset, including yours truly, when Toyota decided to badge the FR-S as a Scion here in the U.S. apparently in an effort to add some credibility to the Scion brand which didn't work.
One does not sticker / badge a car with "GP" if it is not a "Real GP". It just says poor loser / poser that can not buy a real GP.
I'm gonna make a GP style sticker, only it's going to have the letters DA. And I'm gonna start slapping on the hood scoop opening, GP style, on anyone who earns them. Don't worry about sizing if you're afraid of being left out, I'm making them for the R53, R56, and F56 slot. Course they'll have to be fake for the R56 and F56. And don't worry about numbers for the roof--I've got that covered too, so we can quickly match the owner to the car..
Why don't you just put a big dildo sticker on the hood of your car. That'll cover most anything for you... past, present and future.
