I figure it's like the radio.

If I don't like what a particular stations format is, it doesn't get programmed into my radio.

I can still pick and choose those. That hasn't changed. (yet)

I gotta tell you, I come to this site for the fun and enjoyment of owning a MINI and being a part of it's lifestyle. I own a business and have to run it successfully and keep my employees gainfully employed and healthy (we still provide health insurance for all our workers and their immediate family), even with all of the governmental constraints. I quite frankly get disgusted when I am exposed to all the carp that goes on in local and national government. I still vote on a regular basis and I am many times disappointed and disgusted with the people I may have helped put into office.

I guess for me anyway, I deal with the politics in other areas of my life (and I will continue to do so), but my participation in the MINI forum here is for my personal enjoyment, not to be encroached upon by politics. So I was happy when Nathan posted the "How To", that allowed me to TOTALLY ELIMINATE POLITICS, from my life in this corner of my world.:D

For me, even though we don't all agree necessarily, I actually enjoy hearing from people that I am in a community with. I respect those opinions more than listening to some retard on tv or on the street. I prefer to have deep talks with people who matter more than joe blow. Of course sometimes joe blow shows up on a forum no doubt. It even gets to all of us sometimes. Then sometimes joe blow turns out to be a good guy.

There are also people who are over zealous about things. But again, that's why it's just an opinion. No one knows what's right or wrong. In fact, the reality is, what's best for you isn't what's best for everyone. etc etc

whatever the case. Rally's post below is very helpful

Good grief, what's so hard about just not clicking on a thread you don't want to read. We do it everyday when we're flipping through the channels on the TV. You know when the shopping network or sewing 101 is on to just keep going if you don't like them, some folks may and they have every right to watch them. Just because we see a cliff we aren't compelled to walk off it or if we see a turd on the ground, we don't have to pick it up. Block the threads if you can't keep yourself from clicking on a topic.

But never stop freedom of expression and speech, that is called censorship.....

Yup, that's how I do it. I go through all my cable channels, and block all the shopping networks and sewing 101, so I can get to the shows I want to watch. Nathan's provided the same thing. No stopping of freedom of expression or speech here. It's still open to others. The censorship is there only when it's needed.:D

I also think we should do away with politics. I think the logical place to start would be to appoint me King. Of everything.

The Politics forum is something different that separates M/A from all other forums to my knowledge.

I participated for awhile and realized that I wanted to keep my friendships here in tact so I chose to take that section off my forums

I suggest you do the same if you don't like that section

Yep, might need to rethink my freedom of expression statement after that... :/

    Hey Mark (Lotsie),

You think it's time to whip out my car washing pic and ruin the entire week for him?
