That suxs! Times like that you'd wish you would have seen them and smash their car with a baseball bat for being so inconsiderate. Good luck with the repair.

A competant Dent guy should be able to fix anything small....

I found one on one of the barn doors on my Clubby the other day, I have no idea how someone could have hit it there! :mad5:

    Looks OK from my house......:D

Stick with the Dent Wizard type "specialistas", they know what they're doing.

Death Sentence on the spot I say. Summary execution with extreme prejudice, did I say extreme, yes!

Dat's why I park in the boonies everytime, for me it's worth the extra steps

It's a sad fact that some folks could give a carp about others. Open the door & bang, they could care less. Sad very sad. They swim in the shallow end of the gene pool.

Not sure I agree with the death sentence. That just seems too easy on them.

    Ha.....
I laugh at it now, but I remember parking way back in the far corner of a rather large parking lot. And when I returned, right next to me was a old rusted out Ford Econoline van. The one with the barn doors that swing out on the passenger side, facing my MINI. Thankfully, no damage, but it was a tense walk up to the MINI and a thorough inspection.

Why is it people have this herding instinct? Park in the middle of nowhere, with 100 empty parking spaces all around and when you return, five cars will be bunched all around you. :eek:ut:

My wife gripes when we're in the MINI and I'm looking for the perfect parking spot. So now I just drop her off at the curb, and then I go hunting for my "perfect" spot. I have a whole checklist. No parking under trees (birds), no parking anywhere near a shopping cart (I gather up them if they happen to be close to the MINI and return them to the store). I like islands (don't have to worry at least about one side). I try to stay away from pickup trucks. These are just a few pointers on my list. Oh yeah, absolutely no valet parking.

Don't forget: no late model volvos (they tend to catch on fire), no mini-vans, preferably somewhere you can pull through, and far enough away that no one wants to walk over to lean on/touch/poke the car cuz it's just that cool!

I just stopped by the MINI dealer on the way to work to have their service guys take a look. They think they see a crease. :cryin:

He suggested I polish out the paint scuff and just live with it, because assuming it's even possible to pop it out PDR-style, it will probably still be visible. Otherwise to get it perfect, it'll probably need to be re-sprayed after the metal is un-f*cked. :mad2:

I don't know how much $$ I want to throw at this only to have it still visible...I guess next step is to find the local Dent Wizard and have it looked at by a pro...

If it happened when I think it did, it was when I had parked in a large, partly empty lot (most lanes only had 5-10 cars) at least 4-5 spots away from the next closest car. I came out of the grocery store and there was a guy parked right next to me; he and his son loading grocery bags into his side rear door. I bet it was them.

You could wait for them to return to the store and then ding their door, but they would not even notice, most likely. :frown2:

I think a broken window would be more noticeable...and cost about the same to replace as it would be to fix the Mini's door. :arf:
