Have you contacted your own insurance company?
Usually they will tell you get it fixed on their own dime then go fight with the other persons insurance to get relief.

UPDATE
I quit being stubborn and followed your advice to file the claim with my insurance co. rather than with that of the other party. Geico wasted no time to set me up with a preferred local body shop and within less than a week repairs were completed. However, I had to pay the deductible out of pocket. I wasn't happy about that. It is Geico's policy to recover their losses. But, given that they only covered 25% of the total cost of repairs, I doubted that they'd waste any effort to recover it.
Just when I had lost all hope, I receive a check in the amount of my deductible from Geico. It took nearly 5 months, but they came through.
After the accident, I don't see my Mini quite in the same way I used to. The magic is gone. I know it has been violated and that bugs me. But recovering my deductible make the accident easier to live with.-

Just went through something similar with a psycho SUV driver. Sat on "hold" for two weeks with NOTHING getting done on my car because the crazy b*tch thought she was going to fight me on it... Got my deductible back and my attorney is now going for blood since she has since gotten two speeding tickets and another accident under her belt.
Let your insurance co. handle it. You will get your $$$ back.
Good luck with it.-

^ Nathan gives good advice. Have your insurance provider pay for your fix & go after the other guy's insurance.

Anytime we can get a Seinfield reference that is a Thumbs up
And for a responce. That is why you have insurance so use it. Yes paying the deductible is a pain but fighting the other insurance company is a bigger pain. Let GEICO fight for you that is why you pay every month let them fight and you will eventually get the deductible refunded. Better to do that and get your car fixed than fighting and still have a crashed up car sitting there. Just think you could be out now MOTORING.
Good luck to ya -
Your resounding advice has been noted.
But, at least for now, I intend to fight. It's a matter of principle, I'm afraid. My $500 should stay in my rainy day fund where it should be, not wagered in a battle between insurance companies.
Good thing my Mini only sustained body damage and still runs perfectly.
