I have the PIAA Ion Crystal yellow bulbs... Got them from Aaron at Outmotoring... They are going on 5 years now... Like them...

 

Everything was included. There was a resistor cable they said may or may not be needed for that car. Turns out it was needed.

I used the good 3M double sided tape to mount the ballasts. It's a very professional kit. All the plugs snap right together. The clear plastic covers shown in the pic come off before installation. They're just protection for shipping. The rubber gaskets on the base of the bulbs gets flipped around. Then just put it in. I used the stock rubber surround and just cut an X then trimmed off the points to slip the wire through. There is a rubber grommet that fills the hole.

With the Focus ST you have to take the light housings out to get to the bulbs easily which then gave me plenty of room to get the ballasts in.

I'm thinking of getting them at 3000k for my fog lights. A nice yellow beam.

 

I've always read that you don't want to achieve the yellow color from a painted cover or glass because it's cutting down the light. You want the light to be the yellow color. That's PIAA was the iodine bulbs. Or bulbs that produce light at the frequency or the yellow spectrum.

FYI for those wondering why you want yellow. The yellow light makes it better at seeing through rain, fog and snow. They don't reflect the light back the way white light does. That's they are best for fog lights.

 

I stand by my cheap Nokya bulbs. If they are still working in my MINI that makes them 9 years old. The fog lights on Minis are little more than automotive jewelry. Although the ones on the R56 are better. Whoops hope Dave O doesn't read that.

 

I think Dave O had those in his fog lights. When he gets released on probation he'll tell you all about them.

I installed these on my wife's car as an upgrade to her headlights. Very easy to install and they work great. I think it was a much better choice then just better bulbs.

They've been in the car since Jan and I had no problems.

Dave O. did say that if your going to use them in the fog lights to go with the 35w.

Go to fleabay & buy a set of Nokya Hyper Yellow bulbs. For my money they are as good as the more spendy bulbs.

 

Piaa has always been one of my favorites.

 

Which bulbs do I need for '06 Justa front foglights? H11?

 

I don't remember, should be in the owners manual. I think it is an H11, but check before buying.

 

Ya know Chuck, I had to go and do a double check on the bulbs I'm currently running and found I was incorrect on what's currently in there. I'm running the Nokya H11 2500k_55w Hyper Yellow Pro Halogen bulbs. Thanks for rattling my memory.

Nope. After about three years in the socket, I've not noticed any distortion of the lense and I use them quite a bit during the winter.
